Im with Holls and Julie and everyone else who has seen AF. Last night was literally my number one show. NUMBER ONE. And I see a lot of live music. A lot. Im averaging 2-3 a month this year alone... But this show? yeah. I should just get rid of all the tix I have for the rest of 2010, because NOTHING will ever top it. EVER. Of course - As Holls said - being in the front center of the pit is generally going to up the ante with regards to your experience. However, I have a feeling that even if I had been in my original seats, I would have shed tears at all the same moments I shed tears in the pit. I would have sweat and jumped just as much in a seat as the pit. They were phenomenal. They put out so much energy and SOUND that it's virtually impossible NOT to be insanely pumped up while watching them. I didnt do any fancy smokin' last night, but I still feel HIGH from the music, and it's 3pm the day after. AF for ROO 2011. For sure. And count me IN for an Inforooster CampOut for pit/front row room. Be they at Which or What. I am so there. <3

If they headline, I'm going Total Access --- even if it means I have to sell my soul and/or my body on the street corner. I want to be on the MF'in stage for that show!!!
The one thing about this band that sets them apart? They genuinely love what they're doing, and it shows. They all smile and dance, and they are unified in their joy. C'mon, they're performing some of these songs for the thousandth time but they bring it like it's the first time. For many fans, it IS the first time. They love their fans, period. Some bands perform and act like we're doing them a favor by showing up. Not this band.
FWIW: I was stone cold sober for that show and they STILL blew my mind.
"Montreal-based indie rock band Arcade Fire has just announced that they are bringing an arena tour to the UK at the end of this year, with the very first of those dates being on December 1st. The band has also confirmed that the tour will be kicking off at the O2 Arena in London."
If they are getting ready to do an arena tour in the UK, I hope they bring it back to the US.
EDIT: To expand upon that, I didn't realize how few US dates there were on this last tour. I am incredibly surprised and honored that Nashville made their short list.

It's almost as if they started up in Montreal with their "warm up" shows, then just cruised down the east coast ending in ATL so they could fly out from our massive international airport... then do Europe... then come back. They have to come back! Karosko is right - this album is waaaay too hot not to do more shows in NA. ...AND, if they follow that same type of pattern... maybe they'll cruise over to the west coast after Europe and work their way back over to the east for Roo???
just now I was gonna type in, "ahh wishful thinking"... but then I thought, "No Christine, dont be wishful! Believe in it! Own it! Proclaim it out into the universe! Arcade Fire WILL play Roo 2011! Woo!"

Very happy to hear that the shows were so good, but saddened I couldn't attend ATL. To hear so many come out of that show and say it's one of the best they've ever seen is great.

For anyone who's interested, Sasha Frere-Jones wrote an on-the-money piece for The New Yorker about Arcade Fire's success with The Suburbs and what it means for Merge Records.
It makes sense. Go overseas and let the album grow in popularity. Then come back to the US/North America and play bigger venues.
And mayo, I am willing to travel to see them again. Roadtrip?
Roadtrip Schmodetrip! Lets follow for two or three shows! Like the times of old, we can load up RadMobile (or the MINIMayo as it should be here by the time they're back) and pretend we're in a beat up VW van and travel with em... Of course, if we decide to pay our utility bills and rent and mortgages first and have no money to actually "tour" - then YES!!! Roadtrip! Absolutely

The new album isn't doing anything for me, but since everybody says their show is so good, I really want to like these guys. If they'd come around here, that would make it a lot easier. I know you're listening, AF, make it happen.
