Last night in Cincy was a pretty standard Jacket show, loved every minute of it. Cobra was pretty short but still really awesome, wish I thought to record it on my phone... I've been lucky to get it twice out of 6 shows now
Usually I'll listen to a band a lot more than usual in the week or two before I know I'm going to see them... then for the weeks after their show a lot of times I don't feel like putting them on as often at all. MMJ is a huge exception to this for me...... can't get enough.
I think now since Circuital has been a while it has made MMJ more mainstream (I hate to use that word cause people take it the wrong way). It has had the Black Keys "Brothers" effect IMO. Circuital has made them significantly more popular. I'm not saying MMJ has gone "mainstream" but I think now they are appealing to more people that aren't really into music as much as we all are. That being said, I think MMJ could have easily headlined over WSP this year if Circuital was released a couple months earlier. So I would not be surprised at all if MMJ is back next year in a headlining spot. I know a lot of people probably disagree but with the success of Circuital I think it is possible. Plus A/C knows how much MMJ is beloved by the Roo crowd.

Now, I wasn't there but there's no way this was a pretty standard set with Cobra>Stop Draggin w Neko plus Steam Engine plus Daniel M Moore.
I think they have played Stop Draggin w/ Neko a couple of times during this tour. I could be wrong about though. I know I saw them collab on a couple of setlist. Can't remember if it was Stop Draggin each time though.

If they play late night What then I either have to miss part of their amazing late night show for some other acts I want to see or completely skip some late night acts that I want to see. Every year there are at least 2 or 3 late night shows (conflicts aplenty) that I end up wanting to see.
If they play Sunday night then I miss no acts and they could still play for 2.5 hours (or more) if they wanted.
To be honest, i'll be happy wherever they are. I just know that I'd be missing out on some bands if they were late night again.
yeah I figured it'd be either LN What or Sunday Night next time they come back.
MMJ will headline next time they are at Roo. I think it is a given IMO. They are too big to not be a headliner anymore. Circuital put them over the headliner hump.
I'm with nodepression, MMJ takes precedent over all other latenight shows. And while it means I could potentially miss out on other great LNs, I know I won't regret a moment of it! I've found I'm always exhausted by the tail end of Sunday anyway and thus I feel I would enjoy MMJ less.
We should start a pool on when they will play all of Run Thru next.
How about last night!
For the record I am not sure that it was a full version, the set list doesn't say 'end of', but it was played right after Smokin From Shootin. I imagine the show will be up on archive soon.
Damn. So is everyone else starting to really miss hearing that full song? I know we talked about this leading up to Roo, but I think I have moved to the camp that believes no Run Thru is better than part Run Thru.
