New to Roo and any advice would be appreciated. My Wife purchased 5 GA Tickets that have yet to be delivered. Once I started to look into it, I can see that I would much rather go VIP. Of course I can t spring for everyone to go VIP so there are a couple of questions here.
1. Can I upgrade my GA Tickets? 2. Can we find a way to still camp with the people were going with that will still be GA? Say purchase a RV pass (or 2)and park our crew there?
I just want to be able to float in and out of the GA crowd at will if possible. Thanks in advance.
To answer question #1: First Welcome to the Inforoo Message Board.
Yes you can, read my post on this thread: Link You can upgrade your General Admission tickets. Note it will cost a little more. Another option is to buy two VIP tickets (you and your wife) and sell the other General Admission tickets.
To answer question #2: If you are in VIP you can "wonder" wherever you like. If you are in General Admission you can not enter or "visit" VIP. So your friends will not be able to visit your camp in VIP.
Thanks... Looks like I doomed to GA. My Wife insist on camping with the other GA folks. We'll see how she likes it when it takes us 6 Hours to check in and she has to use the GA Showers and Bathrooms. Our Friends are in thier early 20's so this should be fun for them. Were' in our late 30's and used to a little more comfort. Should be interesting. Thanks for your help.

LOL.... GA is not that bad. The showers are just as nice as the ones in VIP.... maybe a little bit nicer (I have found some GROSS stuff in the VIP girl showers). The wait isn't so bad. I think you go a little bit quicker if you go on the highway. If take the back roads in, you may wait awhile, but it always seems like it goes quicker when you are on the highway.... maybe I am crazy? VIP is nice, but it is a lot of money (no food anymore!).... and I think you can have just as much fun in G.A. I have to say though the bathrooms in VIP are awesome... lol... but half the time there was a line. May I suggest though, if you are staying in GA that you bring earplugs. It can get really loud sometimes at nite when you are trying to sleep.
I am in the same boat. My wife and I have VIP tickets and our 2 friends have GA. We were considering this option:
Driving in together (we are taking 1 car) and dropping our friends off at the camping only section. Then, parking the car in the VIP section. We can then all camp in the camping only if we want or split up.
Any thoughts on this plan? Will we be able to drop our friends off at camping only (or will they have to walk 12 miles...)?

You won't be able to drop your friends off at Tent-only, they will have to walk a good ways.

The VIP entrance is totally separate from the GA entrances. You have to have a VIP wristband to go into the VIP car entrance -- to even get on the road to the VIP entrance. Your friends are going to have to do some walking, but they'll be walking all weekend anyway. Drop them off on your way to VIP with their GA tickets (ask someone in the know where the best place to do this is on your way to the VIP entrance), you park in VIP, friends walk to Tent Only and claim a space, call them and deliver their stuff to Tent Only from your car. Tent Only is right next to VIP, hopefully. It usually is.
The easist way I can think of to drop off non VIP people and save them a longer walk is to drop them at the highway exit. Just drive past all the cars in line and drop off your friends just past the entrance from the highway and they can walk in from there. You should be able to meet them later and deliver their stuff to them after you make it into the VIP area yourself.

I think that would be the ideal place to drop off for walk up GA people. Hopefully, it won't be hard to do....
Although, I don't know where the nearest GA entrance is from the Holiday Inn/Starbuck's area right off I-24 at 41. VIPers will be driving right by that to get to the VIP entrance and it would be easy to drop someone off there.
