14 cases after one series. they gotta figure out a bubble model A$AP, and I'd say the same for the NFL
I agree on the bubble method being the best solution for sports right now (it has pretty much been proven with what MLS has already did and what MLB is going through currently). However, to have those parameters for an extended period of time seems unreasonable. It should work great for NHL and NBA, but the max those players will be constrained is 6-7 weeks with it being postseason only. From the first day of MLB training and practice until the proposed World Series dates, you would have over 90 days.
I stand with Joe Kelly. 8 games is mega-harsh for NOT hitting batters. He should have cheated and stolen a World Series instead, since you get suspended zero games for that.
And today Bleacher Report is reporting: "MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred reportedly now has the power to suspend players without pay or service time if they are caught stealing signs electronically."
It was cheating when the Astros did it, too. Interesting that this comes only after it becomes clear on the field how pissed off opposing players are. You sure nailed that one, Rob. He could have done something before but punted because he's a wuss who couldn't ruin his streak of getting everything wrong.
5 million dollar fine (max allowed), two years worth of first and second round picks lost, basically devastating for the farm system, GM and FM one-year suspensions, possibly ending their careers, but justice will not be served until Josh Reddick gets clocked by a 97 MPH fastball.
