I can't decide if these would be the best or worst pants for roo.
Those are not the best or worst pants for Roo - they are the best pants for ANYTHING, EVER!
They look just like the blankets and baby clothes my grandma used to crochet in the 70's and 80's. If she were alive I bet she'd make me a pair.
Looks exactly like blankets my grandma/great grandma made back in the day. Pretty sure I have at least one or two of these shorts in the form a blanket in the basement.
Take note fashion victims and behold these tiny crochet shorts and ball-hugging crochet pants made entirely from 100% recycled vintage blankets. Not only are these duds dazzling, but they’re eco-friendly, too!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I'm thinking I can throw this get-up on the left together on the cheap at my local Wal-Mart or Tractor Supply for Sunday at Roo. Any suggestions on how to better it? I will probably go with a wider brimmed hat for sun protection and such. The straw should be great for letting my head breathe while still providing shade.
In a good way or a bad way? I LOVE seeing guys in skirts. Makes you wonder what they got on under there...
Nothing. Unless they're doing it wrong.
I'm leaning towards wearing fewer t-shirts and more lightweight woven collared shirts in hot, sunny weather. The collar helps keep the sun off my neck, the fabrics don't hold sweat forever like a towel, and some of them are vented in back. I've got a couple of Columbia camping and fishing shirts I love, and just picked up a nylon-blend Woolrich and poly/cotton Arrow at a thrift store, both of which should be nice in the summer. Sticky, sweaty t-shirts piss me off. Not sure I can rock overall shorts, awesome as they may be.

Those sportswear shirts are truly the best. I've got a few. The vents are like air conditioning with a good breeze and if they do get wet they dry quick, plus they have lots of pockets and you can keep things like a camera, phone, or wallet up front for quick access.
I love wearing skirts at Roo, though the one I've got has been supremely stretched out at the waistband so nowadays it's more hassle than it's worth to try and keep it from falling off. I want to try sewing an elastic waistband into it but I haven't quite gotten that far yet. The skirt is pimp af though so I might need to break out the sewing machine in the coming months.
I'm like 98% sure it will be fine to wear with chinos or even jeans, but I've never worn a suit jacket separately so I require reassurance. I need a darker colored jacket for the cooler and darker months ahead. My J. Crew tweed jacket is getting entirely too much wear time, and my other sport coat is a lighter "new blue".

I think it will work well without the matching pants.

I think it could work typically suit jackets are cut slightly different than a blazer or sport coat, and the formality between suit jacket and chinos could clash. If I wore my navy suit jacket with some chinos it would look weird, but it is a more formal fabric (worsted). I think because the one you linked is donegal and has some texture and those white flecks, it is leaning a bit on the casual side and could work pretty well.

I purchased a kilt two years ago. it is a Mountain hardware hiking kilt. After some apprehension, I have worn it the last two years and WOW it is so much cooler than cargo shorts and just as comfy as running shorts. I plan to get another one or possibly a bit shorter running type skirt to wear as well.
Lots of good compliments on it and NEVER any negatives from anyone. they are about $50 so not cheap but the fabric is moisture wicking and works great with a pack all day.

I did end up buying both the jacket the pants, and they are great. Our office is business casual, and both the jacket and pants work great with that. I've gotten multiple compliments. At the same time it's clean looking and professional enough that I wouldn't mind wearing it in front of clients.
And I have worn the jacket without the pants multiple times, and it works just fine for that. Belated thanks to both of you for your input.
TS is also doing a telegraph suit in green that is totally awesome, but I didn't buy the presale because I think it might be a little too out there. Still, I think it looks sharp. If they discount it heavily like they did with the Navy Donegal suit I might pick it up.
