bearden high school, in knoxville are the bulldogs.
its one of the larger high schools in the area, and the bearden area is historically right in the heart of knoxville.
since AC ent. is located in knoxville, they often get local bands to play roo. every year. i just cant think of any of the more popular bands who havent played bonnaroo at one of the cafes before though.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Haha. Totally agree. They play this station over the speakers at my office and they LOVE Weezer. I hear them at least 100 times a day. But it's always just their new stuff. I might throw up if I have to hear "Troublemaker" one more time.
Tweet Bonnaroo: "Bonnaroo 2010 only happens once. everything else is just progress. New clue: I will be cheering for my fellow bulldog, HEY!"
My thoughts so far:
The first two sentences are basically saying this year is going to one of the biggest years in bonnaroo's history. I'm assuming this means line-up wise, so some really big headliners, bigger than previous years...?
This statement was made just before the next clue, so it is possible they are saying that this clue is about a bigger band/artist.
If this is the case, then I would think they are referring to McCartney with the beatles song "Hey Bulldog"
However, when I look at the words "bulldog, HEY!" and "Cheering" My initial thoughts were that bulldog is referring to a university team/mascot and I would think the best known bulldogs are the Georgia bulldogs. Since this clue came from Bonnaroo and not DJJD, I wouldn't think the clue has to do with Knoxville (fill me in if I'm wrong here or missed something)
(Also McCartney as the answer seems a little to easy...)
"Fellow bulldog" is singular, so despite there being lots of good possibilities (ie REM/Widespread) more than one person of these bands attended Georgia. So I tend to consider bands or artists where only one person from it attended UGA.

The clue is from DJJD, and he has specifically said it has nothing to do with the georgia bulldogs (see some of the posts above)

bonnaroo 2010 "only happens once, everything else is just progress" is a quote from LOST
Tuesday night (February 2) marks the beginning of the end for one of the most beloved, talked-about, over-analyzed television show in the history of the medium. "Lost" kicks off its sixth and final season tonight, with a recap episode at 8 p.m. and the actual premiere right after. What began as a show about a bunch of people who live through a plane crash and try to survive on a strange, uncharted tropical island has blossomed into a twisting and turning narrative about mysticism, time travel, military research and paranoia. The show has built its reputation through a countless series of mysteries, and has kept fans on the hook by asking seven new questions for every one answered. It's an incredible show that rewards repeat viewings and countless online discussions among superfans.
Like any great cultural moment, tonight's "Lost" premiere requires the proper soundtrack. Though it has a vibe that is rosier than the darkness underlying the show, Weezer's "Island in the Sun" is certainly an appropriate song to spin.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
As much as I'd like for this to be Weezer, I'm not sure that DJJD would refer to someone's high school mascot (bulldog). There have to be a million members of bands whose high school mascot was a bulldog.

I guess the fact that they both went to the same high school sorta changes the game...although it didn't take us very long...hmmm. Not sure I wanna get excited about this yet. Where is DJJD and why is he not playing with us today??
P.S. I effing love Weezer and I really want this to be true. Them and the Flaming Lips?? Dee-lish.

To be honest, Weezer ranks up there as one of my all-time favorite bands. My ticket was already bought when I heard about DSOTM, and this just makes it all the sweeter.
3/24- The Greenhornes 3/31- Queens of the Stone Age performing Queens of the Stone Age. 4/27- Arcade Fire w/ The National 5/19- Primus 6/09-6/12- Bonnaroo! 6/13- Ray Lamontagne 7/04- Florence and the Machine with fireworks.

Yeah, I think it's very likely that Weezer isn't the end of this clue. (lol...it's just progress!)
So let's see, in the interest of exploring further trains of thought, if one is cheering for Brian Bell, one would say...go bell? yay bell? Uhhh....lol.
