But how the heck would Camera Obscura fit in with the original clue?
It really doesn't - he just said that the band wasn't local, and were kind of "obscura" so I threw out Camera Obscura. I don't really think that's the answer.
They do have a song on their last album called "The Sweetest Thing". So it could refer to dessert.
But yeah, I don't think he'd make it that obvious with this "obscura" tweet.
Perfect ending to life is heaven (if you believe that) -- or "the great gig in the sky"... Peaches sings on the great gig in the sky on the flaming lips cover of dark side of the moon...AND PEACHES CAN BE BRUISED!!!
Had another thought too, though this is also a stretch. mille is French for a thousand. Phoenix is a French band, and when a Phoenix's life ends it rises from ashes...sounds like a perfect ending

What about a beverage.....washing down the meal, a drink after a meal....have we gone down that road yet? Edit ~ like a dessert ('desert') wine? Maybe?

You can make this gorillaz too, well sort of ~ if it is dessert, and you misspell it 'desert'...coachella is in a hot place and Gorillaz finish it out? I really want Gorillaz!

I read a lot of people saying that because Coachella has these headliners, we probably will not get any of them. I don't know if this is true or not. This is only my third year with Bonnaroo, and the second year I payed attention to Coachella. But if there is one crossover band, i want it to be the Gorillaz. Think they would be amazing! With you on this for sure!!!!
weve been told we are getting one crossover headliner with coach this year.
it looks like its gonna be Jay-Z playin Sat night. there was the Bonnaroo tweet and now the insider has been posting over in the headliner thread earlier.
he gave us a lot of info on the headliners last year, all of which was spot on.
id love to have the gorillaz, but unfortunately it does look likely. im guess Gorillaz has an exclusive contract with Coach. and wouldnt expect to see them do many more US shows, if any at all.

You typically drink port wine w/ dessert...
portugal the man? he was using spanish overtones.....they speak spanish in portugal......
going even further and probably irrelevant but mil in spanish is 1000......1000 meters is a click......one click for yes?

DJ JD's comment that this is "definitely not a local band" made me think we're talking about someone from out of the country. Which would fit in with whoever mentioned Tinariwen...
Unrelated thought: he said the band was sort of "obscura" and everyone assumed it couldn't possibly be Camera Obscura (which I agree with) - but is it possible that the word "camera" is a hint of some sort?

I think looking for a dessert might be on the wrong track, I think maybe we need to be looking for desert.. The perfect end to a meal for someone who can't spell is desert. DJJD said someone was very close, and Jess was focusing on desert as the key. Plus, any band relating to a desert would definitely not be local. obscura relates to dark, dim, clouded, hidden...and that's as far as I can go. Anybody have any dark desert band ideas?
No it doesn't, dark in Spanish is oscuro/oscura, with no b. Obscura is Latin.
Sorry to get nitpicky but I thought I'd point it out since people are looking for a Spanish connection. I don't know if we need a Spanish connection or not, but it isn't reinforced by obscura.

Obscura is latin, and in latin it still means dark. I'm not sure it matters what it means, he may just be saying we aren't looking for a big name connection. I don't think spanish has anything to do with it, though.
So looking for a desert connection, there is a Great Sandy Desert, great sandy makes me think Giant Sand, and Giant Sand makes me think Calexico, since they're an offshoot of Giant Sand. Probably totally wrong, but I'd like it.
Another wild stab in the dark here. I'm perusing the Wiki disambiguation page for "mill," and I stumbled upon a name that might be relevant in light of this clue...
John Stuart Mill (1806–1873), an influential classical liberal thinker and philosopher of the 19th century.
One could interpret "misspelled mill" as Daily Show host Jon Stewart... if you're the ending to that, would we be talking about the end segment where Jon Stewart chats with one Mr. Stephen Colbert, who'd probably tell you he's perfect?
Edit: I should just cross all this off; just consider it a drunken incorrect rambling... wishful thinking from the guy who brought you the "Comedy?" thread.

In Mexico and the Southwestern United States, the carpa (Spanish: "tent", from the Quechua karpa) theater flourished during the 1920s and 30s. Like its American counterpart vaudeville, performances were varied, including comedic sketches, puppet shows, political satire, acrobatics, and dance.
I think bonnaroo is a total tent theater if you think about it... Plus, mexico... deserty... and so I'm going with the band Carpa annnnd theres nothing like a big Carpa after a big meal to help loosen your pants up Now thats what I call a perfect finish...

The 'mispailed meal/mill' part makes me think like it's supposed to mean with a vocal accent. 'Mispail' could mean 'misspell' and that's why it's 'meal/mill'....meal would sound more like 'mill' with an accent. Making sense? What accent would it be when 'misspelled meal' sounds like its 'mispailed mill'?
