Including an Indie Store version. Digital version is released this week.
I'm almost mad I dumped all my cash into Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky cover "In The Air Tonight" 45s, but then I remembered I can tell people I'm a fan of Phil's 80's work.

I saw Droneflower live so I'm not *as* jealous of this as I might otherwise be

^^^that's really pretty. going to wait and see if the album is any good before committing to a physical copy though.
Being MMJ I already pre-ordered it but I'm not super excited yet because it is a continuation of the previous album. It kind of feels more like a "b-sides/unreleased" than a full fledged album. I'm sure I'll like it enough, though. Listening parties tomorrow night and album out on Friday.
Doves dropped the pre-sale for the new album. link
Went on and copped the signed copy. Given the past two singles, I got high hopes.
Did you get the red one? Tell me you got the red one.
Was there another choice? I did but I may have missed out on other colors/variants. I picked up the new SUMAC yesterday, too, but I missed the gold version and got the clear one.

For any fans of Jon Benjamin (Bob's Burgers, Archer, other alt comedy) who may be interested in this Sub Pop has re-issued his very rare jazz album from 5 years ago. I didn't think I was going to ever get a copy of this on record for a reasonable price. It's a jazz album that Jon plays piano on. Jon doesn't know how to play piano. And also doesn't know jazz.

It's very dumb. But I'm glad I could get it.
Damn I hadn't spent any money in a couple days and this broke the streak ... worth it.

Yeah, not many people I've mentioned it to seem to have heard of it. I don't know how I stumbled on it but probably just going through Jon Benjamin videos on youtube and saw that. I was so disappointed when the original pressing was sold out before I knew about it. It seemed like such a niche project that it wouldn't be reissued at all and the prices on Discogs for the original were around $200 so I just gave up. I'm so glad I found that tweet today. Fastest purchase i've made in a while.

The video takes so long to get to the "I dontt know piano. I don't even like jazz" reveal. Then when he says that's why he thinks this would be funny kills me
My experience has been they usually give you a heads up for the next two/three months. Like the exclusive club runs
July: Mayer August: Buena Vista Social Club September: Spiritualized
Past that, I have no clue though.
yeah I need to keep checking so I can switch out the bvsc (sorry Cuba) for Rick Ross (hellooo Miami)
Totally fair. BVSC will always have a special place in my heart as I had never really listened to "world" music before (unless you count that weird Gregorian chant record that came out in the Nineties. It was inescapable). It introduced me to a new world of sound. It's not my favorite, by any means, but I'd love to own it on vinyl.
Still waiting on like 20+ records to ship from Germany...
They are taking forever to come out from Germany huh?
I have 2 Boy Harsher records (Careful & Country Girl Uncut) that I ordered in early June, with Bandcamp saying the items were shipped on June 11, 2020.
They *should've* made it to me by June 25th, but nothing yet. I knew items shipping from Germany were taking extra time, but I figured they would've been in my hands this past week...Hopefully they arrive safe and sound soon!

Apparently German post isn't even shipping to the US.

When did they make that decision? In late June, when shit started getting bad here in the U.S. again?
Hopefully the band/record label will get back to me soon with an update. I'm down to wait longer if needed, so long as my items are being held safely in the interim.

Here's the details from the Deutsche Post website:
At this time, transport capacities to the USA are substantially reduced. As such, special measures are required to maintain the shipping of letters and parcels.
It is still possible to send letter mail items weighing up to 500 g and with a maximum thickness of 2 cm (documents) to the USA. Warenpost and Päckchen products are no longer available for shipment to the USA until further notice. Private customers: Until further notice, the only option available for sending parcels to the USA will be via the Premium service. Business customers/contract customers: DHL Paket International items can still be sent until further notice. Please note that a crisis surcharge of EUR 2.20 per kilogram (or part thereof) will be applied to each parcel. European business customers: Deutsche Post Packet products can still be sent until further notice. Please note that due to the current international crisis, the prices for all Packet products have been increased. Please contact your Account Manager in your European country office for further information.
So my mistake; looks like they're shipping again, but at a much more limited capacity.
