I hope to never, nor do i expect to, see any cops do anything at brutal as this at roo. This is ridiculous thing for cops to pull, especially at a music fest.

Looks like the cops were doing their jobs. Granted I never like seeing people get tased or treated unfairly.....but this guy wasn't listening. They gave him plenty of time and chances to put the clothes on. Then it looked like when they were trying to cuff him and take him away he was resisting and being a problem. What really should have happened was they bring him away from the scene to a location where they could actually talk to him without worrying about their surroundings. But that didn't happen so the cops made a quick decision.......whether it was right or wrong is up to you.
It seemed like the guy was being a problem and wasn't treating the officers with respect. I don't really feel bad for the guy. Hopefully I don't have to witness anything like that at Bonnaroo.
Yea I hate seeing this type of thing, but this guy totally deserved it. He had to have been spun out of his mind, but christ how stupid can you be? If you want to be naked at a fest and 3 police officers ask you to put clothes on, just run
I just do not like seeing actual cops in the stage area at a festie. That being said I would have tazed him myself.
i'm guessing that someone made a complaint that resulted in the cops coming to the area........but i could be wrong......just a guess. having fun is one thing but if you're making others uncomfortable then maybe you should re-evaluate what you're doing.

i don't like to see anything like this happen anywhere, but this guy was given many chances to cooperate. i believe the cops were actually as cool as they could be at first. the guy repeatedly says, "I don't care." over and over.
they were actually trying to help him out, save him some further embarrassment. lol
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Ok - while I do agree - they guy had it coming - I do also see that the police were excessive
at 3:01 - there really was no reason for the cop to knee the guy in the stomach and there was really no reason for the cop to continue to taser him at 3:49 - they had just pulled him to a sitting position and he was right there - johnny on the spot- tasering the guy in the back of the neck
I also have to say that the crowd was not helping the situation any either. I am quite sure that the police officers were somewhat aprehensive about the situation getting out of control - 3 of them and dozens of people yelling obscenities at them
While I agree this guy totally had it coming, and I would have tased his ass too, I don't think the cop should have tased him over and over again. I mean, him walking around to the back of the dude and tasing his neck while he was just sitting there was uncalled for.

THe only time I've seen cops inside the Coachella grounds was during Rage Against the Machine, so yeah, there was probably a complaint filed.

I think the reason they tasered him even when he was sitting still is because he was still not cooperating - they were trying to cuff him and he was resisting that. They could either let him get back up and start the whole thing over again, or try to get him under control immediately. I could be wrong on that, but no way I am going to rewatch that and look real closely at that dude any more than I already have.
He also grabbed one of the cops' junk (at 2:45) Probably he was just having a coveting type of reaction, thinking maybe he could trade up somehow, but still. Guys lose a bit of restraint when that happens. Or so I hear.
"There is an ancient celtic axiom that says 'Good people drink good beer.' which is true, then as now. Just look around you in any public bar-room, and you will quickly see: Bad people drink bad beer. Think about it."
While I don't really want to come across naked men, I gotta ask how is his expression different than the ladies at Bonnaroo? And Bonnaroo has had fully naked men before too, may I remind you. My only concern was what were the police trying to enforce, Coachella is held on private property isn't it? And ya, the police were quite excessive I thought. I'm guessing we just gave up handcuffing people back in the day without tasers?
While I agree the guys probably deserved a good beating, I have a real problem with the way cops use tasers. As far as I'm concerned a taser should be a tool for public saftey, not a tool to make a cops life easier. Because of the potential of death by taser police should not use them unless their only other option is a gun. There were what 2 or 3 cops there? They could have easily physically restrained him without risking any lives ( he was clearly unarmed). And I realize cops have an amazingly difficult and stressfull job but thats what they signed up for.

I'm gonna have to go with the majority here..... Those cops were being as cool as possible. A lot cooler than most would have been, that dude was just fucking stupid. I kind of feel sorry for the cops. They tried to let him continue on with his weekend and he fucking lost it, more than likely just trying to make a statement, I suppose he just took it a bit too far. Now, I do agree that tasering should always be a last resort and situation didn't exactly call for it but dude just kept on and on. You can tell they were trying to get him as many chances as they could because even when the first cop went for his taser gun, one of the others told him no..... That situation could have been a lot worse though.
i watched it without sound, since im at work, and really, what's being said is mostly irrelevant. i mean, it's not like the guy was hiding any weapons.
talk about fucking up the experience for not just naked guy, but for everyone watching.
i think it's disgusting, since, really, what was the problem? a naked person at a music festival?
talk about quacking up the experience for not just naked guy, but for everyone watching.
I kept thinking about this when I was watching it. Once you see that, it's going to be on your mind for, at least, the rest of that day. Kind of a bummer for those people.
I think he was asking for some kind of retaliation because they did give him a lot of time to just put his clothes on and be done with it, but, to me, it looked like they went way beyond what was necessary.
My boyfriend had another question: why couldn't they have used mace? I've seen plenty of episodes of Cops where the person was resisting and they maced him in order to get him under control. (Come to think of it, I saw it in person once at the Mellow Mushroom.) It's still really unpleasant for the guy, but I wouldn't think quite on the level of being tased (although, I don't know; somehow, I've managed to get this far in life without ever being tased or maced), and isn't it less risky than a taser?
Mace can back fire, it was released later in the local news paper he was intoxicated. Mace will just piss a drug person off and blind them for a few minutes. Plus mace can get in the air and effect other people. Tazers disable the intended person and only the intended person. When I worked for DOC I got tazed for training and been around when mace was released.
The tazer have different strengths sittings. You can tell by how he reacted they used the lowest. Thats what they used in training when they hit me...He knocks you down and it really sucks but you recover faster. The problem with tazer when you get some jerk cop turns it up to the top and keep it up for a lengthy period of time. I would say that the majority of police use it wrong.
