I'm SORT OF considering Rothbury. I would love to go, but...I'm probably on my own, and I don't know if I would want to do Rothbury on my own. Having done Bonnaroo before I'm more comfortable with it and I know people I could meet up with and camp with. Obviously there'd be some people from here at Rothbury, but nobody I know super super well. I do have a friend who lives in Michigan though, she was supposed to go to roo with me in 07 and couldn't so I know she'd be up for Rothbury if she could go....but I have no idea.
Man, after sitting through that Louisville/Uconn game tonight, this is the only thing keeping my hopes up! Atleast I got Deion Branch's autograph, WOOT!
Hey guys....if I remember correctly, the Bonnaroo site crashed around midnight last year cause so many people were trying to see the line-up....sooooo to avoid that this year, I volunteer to go check it out and report back to you all at midnight....you all just wait here.....no need to thank me.
So really...what acts specifically were you looking for that aren't here? Personally...I would have loved to see Public Enemy and Thievery Corp...and Rage of course....Lotus would have been nice...Justice too....LCD Soundsystem....maybe the Kills....Holy Quack....Hold Steady...but other than that....it's pretty much solid as far as I can see...what specific acts were you looking for that aren't here? I don't see a "weak" undercard at all....what were you expecting that isn't here?
Honestly, I think the lower tiers rock. The only headliners I care about at all are Bruce and the Beasties. A large percentage of the middle and lower tier groups are solid college/indie radio staples. You have groups like Decemberists and TVOTR (Playing SNL this weekend and Colbert next week) along with Wilco, YYY, Animal Collective, and other groups that are just blowing up right now.
so was that denial of this list being the official list on the tennessean website or did she just put that up
It was up before TVOTR posted the lineup on their page. Also remember that CoS and other sources have confirmed that it is the same lineup that they've received.

In my opinion, it's not that it's weak in any way, it's just not my personal tastes. I would have loved Manu Chao, Damien Rice, DCFC, Rilo (Jenny by herself is good too tho!), Ben Kweller......there's lots of stuff I would have loved to see. It's just that there's only one act on there that I REALLY love.

Hah! See, I was going to say, man, UConn puts a hurtin' on Louisville and now we get the lineup? What a great night!
Oh and just to bring it up again WTF is MGMT doing on the line up again? They only have one album, are they just going to do the same show they did last year? or do they have an album coming out that I dont know about?
They do have a good amount of material from their days as 'The Management', however I have no idea if they ever include any of that stuff in their live shows.
I love the current line up. There's a few bands I'd like to see added, primarily Cut Copy, but as of now I'm already sold.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Phish Beastie Boys Nine Inch Nails David Byrne Wilco Al Green Snoop Dogg Elvis Costello Ben Harper and Relentless7 The Mars Volta TV on the Radio Yeah Yeah Yeahs MGMT Girl Talk Galactic of Montreal Animal Collective Jenny Lewis The Ting Tings Kaki King Portugal. The Man.

I was really hoping to see The Hold Steady, Conor Oberst, and Fleet Foxes, so I'm pretty bummed they're not there, hopefully they'll be added at a later date. Was not really expecting Arcade Fire, but I was certainly hoping, and I'd be thrilled if they were added.

And some of us don't like that
Well there are other festivals for you then. Superfly bought the farm, literally, and they need to pay for it. By playing only marginal and obscure acts, they can't sell out the show in today's economy. Heck the Super Bowl barely sold out in a 60,000 seat stadium.

head over to infobury.com. we're a pretty swell group of folks. most of us have met before, but we loooooove having new people to chat with! i unfortunately couldn't attend last year, even though i'd already gotten a ticket. but, it's truly amazing from all the accounts i've heard, and the lineup is sure to please!

Thanks for the response...guess OCMS and some form of the dead will be added!....or at least i hope
