^^^ I know that feeling! It sucks. If you have a Sonic near you, they serve their entire menu all day.
On another note:
I got all the stuff last night to make that butterscotch apple goodness that inertiaticc posted on page 3 of this thread, so I thought I would return the favor and share a favorite recipe of mine (which my mom will be making this weekend). It sounds a little wierd (and we call it Pretzel Salad, which my boyfriend says makes it sound wierder), but it's really good. I made it for a work pot-luck thing, and I actually had people seeking me out to tell me how good it is. And it is super-easy.
Pretzel Salad Part 1: 2 c. crushed pretzels 3/4 c. melted margarine (I don't know if it has to be margarine or if butter is okay. That's just the way my mom read me the recipe.) 3T sugar
Mix all three ingredients. Put them in the bottom of a 9x13 pan and press down into a flat layer (like a crust). Bake for 7 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool.
Part 2: 8 oz. cream cheese (softened) 8 oz. cool whip 1 cup sugar
Beat cream cheese and sugar. Fold in the cool whip. Spread over the pretzel layer.
Part 3: 6 oz. Strawberry Jello 1 1/4 c. boiling water 1 16 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice 2 10 oz. packages sliced strawberries with juice
Dissolve jello in water. Refrigerate until it just starts to gel (20-30 minutes; it's still pretty liquid, but if you tilt the bowl, it should kind of coat the sides of the bowl.) Stir in strawberries and pineapple. Pour over cream cheese/cool whip layer. Refrigerate. (I'm not sure how long it needs to refrigerate, but until the jello gets jelloey. I let mine refrigerate overnight.)
A couple of other things: When I did it, I dissolved the jello and put it in the refrigerator, went back and did parts 1 and 2. By the time I was done with those, it was time to mix the fruit in with the jello. Also, make sure your pan is deep enough. I did it in one of those foil 9x13s that is pretty deep, and it was full all the way to the top.
I'm in no way hungry but someone on my office hall just made some popcorn.... and it smells soooo good! I used to work at a movie theater, and even after coming home day after day smelling of popcorn, I still can't resist the smell of freshly-popped corn.
Ohhhh, thanks for the pretzel salad recipe Hil!! That is like one of my fave things to get at the local lunch place we used to go to all the time in Madison! It's not REALLY supposed to be a dessert but EVERYONE always gets it for dessert! LOL! I'll have to try it out on my friends, they love it even more than I do! ;D

You're welcome! It's one of my favorite things that my mom makes. We usually eat it as a side dish, but it does seem pretty desserty.

Tonight, for dinner, Josh is gonna make hamburgers and bread them and fry them, and he's gonna fry bacon as well, and I'm gonna take the bacon grease and make white gravy to go on top of the burgers, and he's gonna make real mashed potatoes. I wish it was tonight already.

I think it will be a grilled cheese night at home - Boz is working so there isno point in really cooking - youngest two are picky and oldest is vegetarian - she'll be thrilled with garlic grilled cheese and soup

It was the best thing I've had to eat . . . maybe, ever. I think I gained ten pounds in thirty minutes, though!
I had the best broiled scallops tonight at a little hole in the wall here in Jackson - yummy - so many of them that I had to bring 1/2 my plate home - oh well - just means I have lunch for tomorrow
My wife made that recipe over christmas last year. It was indeed delicious.
Tonight I'm going out for Mexican with some friends. They need to get their authentic Sonoran Mexican food fix before they go back home to Ohio. I would, too.
