I wouldn't say it's the worst lineup. They've still got enough great bands to get me to go. One addition isn't going to keep me from going. It is the weakest lineup they've had, though

The thing that sucks about this addition, is that since its a headliner, there's very few alternatives of things to do other than go see WSP if you're not a fan.
Any other addition, I would just shrug off and go do something else. Since no other acts oppose them, you're kinda stuck.

if im not feeling WSP, i can just leave early..which is kinda cool .
im sure ill be absolutley exausted and satisfied by that point anyway.

ditto.
honestly, if I wasn't such a big pearl jam fan, I'd bail on the Roo this year.
I don't like WSP at all but it's gonna rock anyway. I will still have to make some difficult choices and a fest with MMJ, PJ en Sigur Ros is just awesome no matter what.
I'm glad there are some bands on the bill I don't like at all or else the choices would be too painful!
I don't mind leaving early on sunday, i've done that most years.

seriously..if you cant fillup your weekend with bands you like from the choices that are already there (depending on schedule)..than you need to stop listening to music, cause its lost on you.

My weekend is pretty full. But thanks to this announcement, I now have a big empty space on Sunday evening where only one band is playing. This announcement has actually made my schedule less full somehow.
The first post complains about lineups in comparison to other fests. I don't think that is the proper way to look at it.
The atmosphere at Bonnaroo trumps that of any other festival I've been to. As I see it: mediocre Bonnaroo lineup + Bonnaroo atmosphere > killer lineup at another fest.
And I'm not even calling this lineup mediocre, per se...
I don't really see why WSP getting added makes people want to burn their tickets. They're just another band on the lineup, and if you don't want to see them, don't.
If you compare the Bonnaroo lineup to Coachella and Lollapalooza, unless you're absolutely fixated on the very TOP of the bill, and pay no attention at all to the bottom 85%, Bonnaroo destroys the other festivals, especially Lolla. 3 Headliners don't make a festival. One band doesnt ruin a festival. Compare how long you will be spending during WSP (either watching, or not), and the think about how much other time in the 4-day weekend that you will be watching other great shows.

So why do you wish you never bought a ticket? Did you buy your ticket thinking "thank goodness WSP isn't on the line up! I would never go this year if they were!" or were you going solely for the ABB. It's understandable if you were, because they were a high billed act. But I think it's a little blasphemous to say that you wish you didn't buy your ticket after they ADDED bands. It's like "here, have more possibilities for fun" and you say "No thanks, I was having enough as it was and any more potential for a surprisingly good time would just be too much"

Haha, well-put. I'm pissed about all this too, but more because of the hype. These additions certainly haven't made Bonnaroo WORSE, just not much better either.
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
Still so much to add. And as it has been said ... The vibe is Roo trump card. Period. Personaly I don't care for middle of city festivals. End at a certain time and no camping. That doesnt mean I won't go...

While I wouldn't say I regret buying my ticket it's not so easy for me to say I don't. This will be my first Roo and I loved last years line-up (which is what got me interested in Roo). It's not just about WSP; more additions as a whole. I was really hoping they added at least one band I was already into, and they haven't. That said, I'll be driving from New York w/ two of my close friends and my girlfriend and I'm really looking forward to the adventure. And I'm still optimistic about the awesomeness of Bonnaroo and the experience of chilling for four days with 3 of my favorite people and about 80,000 people I haven't met making up for what is (for me at least) a sub-par lineup. See you all on the farm

Couldnt agree more. when everyone starting comparing roo to other festivals i checked out the lineups for other festivals....
Roo destroys them is right. Some people who go to roo arent open minded enough. Pearl Jam is going to be unbelievable....90s rock, jack johnson is very talented mellow...acoustic, kanye west is at the top of his game....rap, robert plant is a legend, bb king is a legend, i love ben folds' unique sound, my morning jacket is insanely good, the raconteurs rock out, i can not think of a better comedian then chris rock, willie nelson.
and there are so many more im sure ive forgotten about or am not familiar enough with. i am not a fan of jack johnson, metallica, kanye west, or willie nelson but im still excited to check them out.
look at all of this variety we have....we can see kanye west, pj, willie nelson, and ben folds all at the same place. It's incredible. Everyone is gonna have a blast.
