Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
its in Gore, Virginia which is near winchester VA.
See my reviews of wilderness jam and camp barefoot which are also held here.
I absolutely love this venue, its in Gore Virginia(near Winchester) and the festivals are very small with a great sense of community.. I've been to 2 so far there this year, 420 Festival and Camp Barefoot, I highly reccomend it. The campground has a lake, ATV/Dirtbike/hiking trails, and a ton more.. The farthest campsite from the stage is probably a 5 minute walk.(You can hear the music wherever you are). If you are looking for peace and quiet, there is a ridge you can cross to find a nice quiet spot. You can either camp with your car, or walk your stuff to wherever you'd like and camp. There are some great merchants who always show up there with quality glasswork, clothing, and other crafts.. and shakedown is eternal!
The reincarnated Jefferson Starship is headlining..
Most of my usual festie posse is going, and you should too!
Oh yeah.... and they allow CAMPFIRES! There are folks who do walk around and check to make sure you've got a proper firepit, but if you don't, they won't yell at you.. they'll just help you fix it so its proper. They'll also sometimes douse your fire if they notice nobodys been at your site a long time.

well shoot... i might have to venture to this... although i doubt i will, my wife already thinks Bonnaroo and All Good(which i'll be dragging her to) is too many festivals. :-)
is my festival lineup.. May not go to Barefoot, but the rest are for sure.
barefoot's lineup looks pretty solid... i was going to go to FloydFest this year, but the family that i was going to attend with, the wife just got pregnant and is due in june right before the festival... so i'll have to try that one next year....
wooz, we should meet up sometime at Roo and maybe again at AllGood. :-)

I'm looking into this... but dude, all these additional fees just to check out Thursday's music is a bit ridiculous, don't you think? $10 additional for music, plus $12 additional to camp... And that's on top of the $25 extra they already charge just to camp rest of the weekend??
Am I misinterpreting that from the website or is that really how it is?
Unfortunately, its how it is... The Cove doesn't charge the folks much if anything to actually hold a festival there, they make their money off of folks camping. We think its worth it to get there Thursday because there is a particular site that we absolutely love, its up on a hill in the trees from the stage, so we get shade all day long, plus there is a GREAT spot for a firepit there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting there friday and there are plenty of great sites, its just that the BEST sites get snagged on Thursday.

^^^How easy is it for someone like me to come up Friday and then find people like you who got there Thursday and enjoy the luxurious campsite? It seems likely to me, since it appears you park a car and then walk to camp...

By half our crew, he means, everyone but me, Cuz this one is so close I dont take off any work for it. Great festival, the bands are good, but its really just a good time. Good friends drinkin around a campfire, doesnt get much better than that. This is the festival that i showed up with a chair and a beer. (actually, I snagged a beer on the 2 minute walk to the camping site. You could walk from one end to the other in 5 minutes, and everybody is so cool, there is virtually no security, party favors are easy to find, they actually tell you to bring a knife and a hammer and even a hatchet for firewood)
Strange women, lyin in ponds, distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not some farcical aquatic ceremony. Why if I went round, sayin I was king, just cuz some moistened bing had lobbed a scimitar at me, Why, they'd put me away!
