So the governor of Kansas welcomes you to Wakarusa!
not to be cynical, but this just sounds like even more damage control from last year's hidden camera backlash...anyone seen any kind of numbers on how well waka tickets are selling? wouldn't surprise me if they're down from previous years...
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

"Welcome To Kansas! A GREAT place to get arrested!" F*ck her and her Festival! Luring paying customers in and then scumbagging them, isn't very welcoming! Kansas makes plenty of cash off of the people who attend the festival each year but, that's not enough! They have to go out of their way to add some fines and court-costs on to it! Again, F*CK HER!

Highly Agreed.
I cracked open a fortune cookie once that read something to the extent of "Those who should truly become politicians will stay as far away from the title as possible."
"All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone.. the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." -- Marcel Duchamp
Not sure it's her festival..... Anyway I think it's funny the governor did this (think we'll hear from the governor of Tennessee?) and I also think it's a recognition that hassling people bringing money into the state just to get a few "hippies" doesn't make much sense. We'll see if local officials learned anything from the backlash last year.
well i am still sticking to my guns and not going. but i doubt they are having many ticket selling issues with thtta lineup. definitely the best lineup this summer imo. but im not gonna deal with kansas pigs to see it. and the governer saying welcome dosent make 2 shits of a difference for me. of course she welcomes. they need to make some more money off of bullshit collars for dollars. its a shame cuz that lineup is insane. but i wont go to kansas ever. maybe if this year goes of with no problems and the lineup is insane next year ill consider it. probably not. screw kansas.
and the mayor of masontown, wv came up on stage at allgood to personally thank all of the great music fans that came. still didnt mean nuts but atleast that was a town that accepted and appreciates what a fest can do for them instead of trying to bust as many good people as possible. im glad manchester and coffee county know whats up and do a good job.
