This is my last summer in college so I see it as the last time I'll be able to be stupid and spend all my money goes to festivals and doing crazy things.
Right now I got tickets to Bonnaroo and Rock the Bells. I'll be waiting for the Virgin Festival and hop on that too.
I really hope to one day just have enought money to take the summer off and travel around to all festivals in a pimped out RV.
So for the true festival heads, what's your count this summer?

I have my Bonnaroo tickets already. I am going to be going to the 10,000 Lakes Festival again and I will be going to Eic Clapton's Crossroads Festival and there is a possibility of going to Summercamp but that's still up in the air.

Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

well, there's bonnaroo!!!! IF pearl jam plays Lolla, methinks i'll have to go wakefest (here in kelowna july 6-8) merritt mountain music festival - its a country music fest, but a friend of mine is playing it and there's 250,000 people, at least half of which will be men (merritt, bc, july 12-15) salmon arm roots and blues festival (labour day long weekend in slamon arm) bumbershoot in seattle (also labour day long weekend, going to try 2 days in salmon arm and 2 days in seattle, but it depends on if my bands are playing either) rock 'n ride at the bluff (also in kelowna, don't know if it will happen this year or not, but first weekend of august if it does) there's also shambala in july, undecided on that one as of yet
i voted 6, might be a couple more, but 6 for sure
there's also a couple of hotrod shows i'm thinking of going to, which i'm sure will have music, but i've been invited by a friend and don't know the details. one's in california and one's in seattle
edit: forgot about the okanagan fest-of-ale and the fat cat children's festival (hey, theres music and i'm the mc)
only 4 for sure as of now .... wakarusa, bonnaroo, a new fest at copper mountain (transgression fest i think it is called, disco biskets and u magee), and vegoose if they have a third one ... cr****
Let's see....Don't think we'll make it to bonnaroo
We are definately going to Appalachian Roots Revival (only one day but since Vince Herman is there it's festivaaaaalllll!), Merlefest, and Asheville Music Jamboree.
Hopefully make it to one or more of the following...Gratefulfest, All Good, Floydfest, Ashefest, and Bristol Rhythm and Roots.
I voted three but hope for at least one or two more.

I'm glad other folks noticed this...
Dude, that's kind of a weak attitude to take - I mean, sure, college was fun, but it's not like you graduate and are immediately married, with kids, with mortgage, drowning in bills.
If anything, you have more free time after college (well, except for the obvious no long summer break) and you should have a shitload more cash.
Sure, your colleagues might not understand, but who cares

Langerado Bonnaroo Pitchfork Festival Lollapalooza
I have to agree. College is just the beginning. The festival scene is a way of life. It's not just for crazy spring breakers (although crazy spring breakers are always welcome)! Since I've become an attorney, I've quadrupled the number of festivals I've attended per year.

i used to think like that too, and for what its worth, if you want the insta-wife/mortgage/kids deal, you can probably go out and get it, but it doesn't have to happen that way. i used to think after graduation it was like someone magically waved a wand and i no longer had any desire to party anymore...needless to say this couldn't be further from the truth your life's direction is in your hands man, make good choices. HOWEVER, time certainly seems to speed up unbelievably after college so maybe it just seems like you immediately end up with that stuff when it really happens rather gradually.
as to the free time bit, i gotta disagree. i had way more free time in college than i do now.

Memphis In May Music Fest, Bonnaroo, Sunflower Blues Festival in Clarksdale, Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival (formerly King Biscuit) in Helena, AR, and Mucklewain (if they have it again this year). Also Double Decker Arts Fest in Oxford, Memphis Italian Fest, Memphis Music & Heritage Fest, and Cooper-Young Arts Fest if you include the smaller street fests (hey, they still have bands playing). Also wouldn't mind hitting one of the many fests up in Chicago (Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, or Intonation, or even the Crossroads, though I know they're sold out already).

I know that's the truth. For me, it was pretty easy to blow any assignments and studying out of the water quickly, and I certainly didn't have classes every day of the week. Left me with loads of free time to misbehave, make shows, and the odd festival. And still come out with a respectable transcript.
'Roo & Vegoose are all I have slated. But who knows?

Even when all that happens you can still go Our 2 kids are coming to the three festivals we are going to. Also, what a better way to forget about the bills than immersing yourself in the wonderful vibe of a festie! Don't worry folks life doesn't end at thirty (or forty or fifty) lol
thanks for all the support, i've been just having a stressful life and thankfully bonnaroo exists for therapy. i don't want to bore anyone with details but i'm responsible for all my finances, right now $350 a month in student loans alone, and a lot more. and now i'm debating law school which will add to the pressure.
i guess after all this is over i'll have a better idea of where i'll be and what i can do. i just want to make sure i at least did everything i could to make sure i still had fun. last thing i want is to mess up in the future and regret not taking advantage of everything i could
well, things have changed: merritt mountain music festival bonnaroo shambala sasquach music festival ozzfest (seattle and the gorge) vans warped tour wakefest rock n ride roots and blues bumbershoot okanagan fest-of-ale fat cat childrens festival and not going to lolla so thats 12 so far goodness, expensive summer

Bonnaroo is my one big thing ever year. This year i'll be attending the Atlanta Jazz Fest but, it really doesn't count. It's like 4 blocks from my house.
