i'm assuming early birds are sold out already? one of my friends txted me the day they went on sale but i had a bunch of nuts i needed to spend money on first...
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
All Good falls on my 21st birthday, so I was thinking about going, but the drive from Arkansas is about 14 hours. Since I've never been, I was wondering if this fest is worth it. Any feedback is appreciated.
I think it's worth it. You don't have to miss any of the music if you don't want to, no overlapping sets. There is one main stage and a side stage, which is right next to the main stage. You couldn't ask for a more scenic place to have a festival. Theres a lot of sketchy stories but I didn't experience anything shady last year. If the lineup looks good then I would do it. I prefer All Good to bigger fests because you have more time to spend at the campsites hanging out and making food and stuff. You don't feel like you have to be in 10 places at once.
ya i agree on it being worth it. its a great fest. and i too have heard the horror stories but have never witnessed it or known anyone that has. you should definitely go. its a great time!
^ what Umphreak said is very true and I agree wholeheartedly. Last year I did Langerado, bonnaroo and All Good. of the 3, All Good was by far my favorite. The venue is amazing, the show schedule and single stage (the little stage only lights up b/t sets on the big stage) make for a very easy fest experience--you can actually see ALL the bands. And it's always a short walk from point A to wherever the hell you end up.
I drove 8 hours to get to WV last year and it was worth it 100%. Watch for speed traps in VA--I got $300 wreckless driving ticket last year. It didn't spoil my good time, though!
EDIT: I did not witness or experience any bad/shady stuff. Just be careful and use common sense as always and you're cool. I think all these horror stories originated either from bad people or people who willingly put themselves in a risky situation.
Did anyone notice that AllGood's webpage has changed; it no longer says that moe is playing 2 sets, it just says "plus late night all good all star jam hosted by moe."
You think this means that they're only playing one set so that LoS can headline ?
Would LoS headline? Who's bigger, them or moe.? Perhaps the reunion thing gives LoS the edge...
i dont see los headlinig. they were daytime at gratefulfest. thats alot smaller then all good. plus they make for a great afternoon set.. but if they do headline ill be happy about it. maybe on sunday in the wailers spot to close it out??
Yeah the Leftover Salmon website says they are playing on the 15th, which would be Sunday. Even if moe. headlines it might just be one long set, and then another set at latenight. I think the 2 sets before was including the latenight.
So moe. will probably play the headline set, then continue with the late-night-all-star-hippie-jam-festravaganza?
But does that leave room for them to add SCI? If they did add SCI, maybe moe. could play the 8-10 slot, then SCI could play 10-12, then moe. could come out again for a Leftover Cheesemoe Keller/Claypool Tribe dance.
i actually lucked out. i was about to buy tix myself and was talking with a bunch of my friends about it and one who ordered one at EB price can't go now because he has a wake or something on that date, so he offered to me.

We are beyond delighted to make sure that everyone on our mailing list is among the first to know that Leftover Salmon is set to end their 27-month hiatus and has confirmed a headlining slot on this year's All Good Festival."
This was in an email that All Good sent me. I had a feeling they would hook LoS up with a good slot.
yep its good to see they got a headliner. im still thinking it will be the sunday daytime headliner to close it all out. music stopping at 8 on sunday sux. and they want you to leave at 8 too. i really wish they would let us stay until monday! leaving sunday night sucks. and then the music could go to a resonable hour and we could get a true night time headliner for sunday.
but a little secret for inforooers. they will let you stay if you agree to pick up trash on monday. they just dont want the mass exodus on monday morning. you dont actually have to help if you do saty. but it would be bad karma if ya didnt. just help for an hour and then jet.

Wasn't that just '05 that they told everyone to leave on Sunday night? I was there in '05 and '06. In 2005 Tim Walther came out and after a talking about the Philly nitrous mafia that were messing up the scene, he said because a storm was coming in the police wanted everyone out Sunday night. At least that's how I remember it, my memory is... hazy.
Last year we stayed till Monday and I think most people did. I didn't hear anything about having to be out on Sunday last year.
huh... i could swear they were saying you had to leave last year. we took off after aquarium rescue unit because we were under the impression we were supposed to leave by 8. we left and got a hotel. some friends said they were told they could stay because they agreed to pick up trash. but we said a shower and a bed sounded better. but on the website this year it says campgrounds open till noon on monday. so i could be mistaken. why does the music stop at 7 on sunday if you can stay? that seems odd. im nearly positive it was on the website that you were supposed to leave by 8 pm because we talked about how lame that was on the way there. i could be wrong though. anyways im glad it says til monday this year. hopefully we will get more music on sunday night like roo does it.
I'd be willing to bet they shut things down a little earlier on Sunday in consideration of those folks who want to stay for the entire event, but have to get back to the grind on Monday morning. Ya know, give them a fighting chance to get a couple hours of sleep under their belt and maybe scrape some mud off their hands by 9:00 am on Monday.
Heh... anybody see the "boob compitition" (for lack of a better phrase) sunday night last year? That's what happens when you stop the music early and people need to entertain themselves.
I left early Sunday last year. Definitely won't miss the boob competition this year. But seriously...
I already bought an early bird ticket. Who else is going? It doesn't look like there's much interest from the roo folks, least not on this thread. Get Hype Y'all, FESTIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL!
agree, i love the fact that you don't really have to move where you're sitting to see an act on the second stage. plus, my friends who went last year tell me a lot of the food vendors are right there near the main area, and that you really don't have to move around much once you enter for the day.
