Yeah, Ozzfest is getting paid for by the sponsors.
Someone above mentioned that the bands probably wont get paid....well....little (or not?) known fact is that in poast years, 2nd stage rotating bands (or their record label) actually had to pay 80 grand to get on the tour. So, yeah. Take that for what you will, not really sure how the money flow is going to work this year, but Clear Channel is definitely into it, as they have been in the past.
Other bands that Ive heard rumored to be playing Ozzfest this year: Black Label Society (pretty much a given by now), Hellyeah! (Vinnie Paul's new band), and Alice in Chains. I'm sure some smaller bands will pop up too....more than likely at least one Roadrunner band rotating, at least one Victory band rotating, etc. I'm sure Lamb of God wont be a co-headliner. Probably a mid-main stage band.
It'll still be Ozzfest, just free, with a not-so great lineup.

Id love to see Ozzy, but Im kinda scared of getting trampled by crazed metal heads.
How silly to say such a thing, I've been to Ozzfest(2X)96&98,Sounds Of the underground 2005,Pantera(2x),Unholy Alliance tour with Slayer, Death,Soilent Green and more. While there are some dumbasses, theres actually alot of cool and respectful people just drinkin, smokin, and chillin trying to watch a show. I understand not wanting to mosh, but if you stay out of the way of it you should be fine, but I also like some metal with my jam, jazz ,and whatever else I like. I agree that sometimes the vibe at a metal show is a bit juvenile and immature, but you would be surprised to find how many cool, socialable, intelligent people like metal.
Its not that I have bad thoughts of metal fans, I have been to metal shows. My very first concert was Tattoo the Earth with Slayer and Slip Knot among others. I guess I just imagine it being crazy cause its a free show. But maybe your right, it was kinda silly.
So tickets are given away tomorrow. Is it me or wasn't Atlanta on the schedule before? So outside of the one show in FL there is only one Ozzfest in the south? Well getting these tickets should be interesting.
