this ones memorial day weekend.... may 25 - 27. its 2 nights of hookah. also rusted root, the wailers, tea leaf green, hot buttered rum, oakhurst, reverend peyotns big damn band, the arkband, rumpke mountain boys, back forty, mac podz, and stephan mikes. talked with the owner at harvest jam and he said hes got big things planned for this year. hes buying a stage instead of renting. putting in showers and stuff like that. he said they are trying hard to get michael franti and spearhead. in the past they have had rat dog, dr john, david crosby, dickey betts, yonder mountain string band, keller williams, sam bush, galactic, particle, the wailers, robert randolph, etc... so im hoping that the lineup will be great. they also have alot of smaller fests in spring summer and fall. check the website.
its in ohio. outside of columbus. its an awesome place. you dont get to camp by your car. you carry you stuff. but its setup well and its not far to carry stuff. all the camping is near the stage. its a natural bowl and the sound is incredible everywhere. campfires are allowed. they dont sell alcohol but your free to bring your own and you can take it right to the stage with you. its a great time. dont miss it if you can swing it.

Ever since hookahville has moved from frontier ranch, i've been pretty uninterested. It seems to me those two lineups have been a little weaker too. It's only like 20-30 minutes from me, so if its a good lineup i might check it out, but i liked it a lot more at frontier.
i never made it to frontier ranch. ive heard good things though. how come you dont like legend valley??? its definitely one of my favorite venues. only behind nelson ledges. its well setup. everything is close to the action. security is supercool. they have real cops that walk around. but they dont do anything. when we were coming in we heard a cop ask another cop what he was supposed to do while there. the other cops said whatever you do just dont smile. but we got them to smile. we had a remote control vw bus. and we were driving it right in front of them. we were yelling slow down!! eat the weed! the cops are behind you!! they both cracked a smile over that.
just curious as to why you dont like it there? ive never heard of a bad experience at legend valley. and keep an eye out for that lineup. i have a feeling it will be bluegrass/jam heaven. i cant wait!!!!

I dont mind the venue, i prefer frontier, but i just think the fest overall has gone downhill since it left frontier, and hasnt really been enough to get me to spend 80$'s. Its still definatly a good festival, but its too close to roo for me to be able to spend money on it to just see a few bands, it has to be a really solid lineup in my eyes. If it were earlier in the year or fall hookah was cheaper, id definatly go again.
right on... my bad, i thought you were saying you didnt like legend valley. ya alot of those bigger names are from when it was at FR. hopefully the owner was serious about doing big things this year. i think it would be a perfect stop for the phil, bob, trey, winwood tour. if its more then a rumor that is. the photos from the couple times the grateful dead were there are awesome.
the cheese at roo thread got me going through some sci shows and i found one where they played with johnny polanski and ed mcgee of hookah. string cheese would be awesome at hookahville. and would be a perfect fit for the type of music they have. damn if even half of my wishes come true its going to be a hell of a summer!

If they get another lineup like spring 2005, which was absolutly awesome, il consider going again. That year even Hookah put on a sick show, which is hard for me since iv seen the so much, but they covered some metallica and it was awesome. Also, a nice this about frontier is that its like 10 minutes from me, and we knew how to sneak in, so we'd sneak in for early bird, then go out and buy our tickets, which made it a litte cheaper. But if they could pull something similar to 05', i might have to consider being absolutly broke. ;D
ya that lineup was crazy. i wish i could have made it. i will have to check out that show. although im not down with current metallica i still love the old stuff. im curious to see how hookah sounds covering metallica.

Its up on archives, and is actually very good sound quality, i know they did enter sandman, i dont remember if they did any other. Actually heres the link, a lot of good covers, and the sound qualitys about as good as it gets for non-sb. www.archive.org/details/eh2005-05-29
Spring Hookahville 2007 Lineup: 2 nights with ekoostik hookah Hot Buttered Rum Oakhurst Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band Back Forty More TBA
nothing too big. but oakhurst is incredible. cant wait to see them again. and have them jam with hookah. at fall hookah they put on an incredible show. and they were tearing around the campground on a golf cart with like 8 people hangin off of it. they were nuts. around 3 or 4 am they had a convoy of 4 wheelers and golf carts and they were driving around and stopping to jam at random campfire parties. it was awesome!! hopefully some bigger names will come out soon. and for those who know they are going, the tickets are on sale now until feb. 28th for 50 bucks.. thats a deal!
ya dude im thinking some big announcements will be coming soon. the owner sounded really serious about doing big things this year. hes doing lots of work to the place to make it suitable for huge events again like when the dead would come through. i think franti, yonder mountain, keller williams and string cheese would make for a good lineup. cant wait to see what they get!!

they added rumpke mountain boys. they put on a great show both time ive seen them.
im expecting some big names soon. most of the big names seem like afternoon slots. hopefully tlg gets a latenight. and hoefully rumpke mountain boys or oakhurst get a latenight.
also hookahville usually ends saturday night. and you leave sunday morining. which seems silly as monday is memorial day. hopefully they will change that. but if not nelson ledges will be having soemthing sunday night. lots of people head to that on sunday. and thats what i will be doing. its usually a great price too if you arrive on sunday. just somethign to think about if your looking to extend your holiday weekend with some more partying!
well its a great time. i love it. but i dont know whats up with the lineup. summercamp is kicking its ass. i might have to go there. hopefully some big announcements are coming. like franti and yonder mountain.
Just got my tickets for Hookahville last night. It was actually the first festival I ever went to back in Spring '02 (Bruce Hornsby, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, MMW, Umphrey's, and two nights of the most blistering Hookah I could imagine). I know it's probably not going to be the same, as it's at a different location with far less crazy acts, but I'm still pumped. Plus, I'm bringing two friends that have never been to a festival, and one that is going to both Hookahville and the Roo with me I'm stoked

good stuff man. ill see you there. i hope they do something with the lineup cause its looking pretty weak. but i just saw 2 nights of hookah this past weekend at the blossom blast festival and they were on fire. the second night was the best hookah show ive seen. and tea leaf green was awesome at harvest jam at legend valley. they said they wanted to be back soon and it didnt take long. should be a great show. i hope they get a latenight. i wouldnt worry about the venue. legend valley is an awesome place. and the craziness will be all around. though i wonder with the lineup being weak and summercamp having a huge lineup the same weekend if it might not be a small spring hookah. no matter what it will be a crazy weekend full of fun and great music.
It said in the website that TLG will be a late night act, which is pretty exciting. Also, Rusted Root is one of those great outdoor, middle of the day kind of bands, and they're playing two hours on Saturday afternoon (5 PM - 7PM). The link to the schedule is below.
You're right about that Summercamp lineup. It's pretty nasty. But I think that could make for a really cool little intimate Hookahville experience. Plus, if Hookah is as on as you say they were, that will be an amazing time.
