One of my best friends from law school lives down there, so I'm just going to crash with him. Sucks to be missing out on camping, but at least I'll get to shower every day.

I will be there as well since it is only a 30 minute drive for me. We have camping tickets but expect to do a combo of home/camping so we can shower etc.
As far as access goes it is only 30-40 min from MIA and less than 30 from FTL. It's about a 20 minute drive with traffic to the late night shows.
We are pleased to announce the following artists have been added to the lineup for the 2007 Langerado Music Festival:
Galactic The Spam Allstars
The following artists have had to cancel their appearances at Langerado:
Cut Chemist Paolo Nutini
Shuttle Service to Late Nights:
We are happy to announce that we have partnered with TargetSport to provide shuttle service to and from the late night venues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All details will be posted under the Information > Travel section at www.langerado.com later this week.

I was just about to post about the late night shuttles... Thats SWEET, definately a wrench in the gears people complain about with Langerado... This is gunna be a blast... Wonder if theres any big additions coming... Keller, Pnuma Trio, Umphreys, SCI, Yonder or alot of other bands would beef this thing up more than it already is...
I'm still pretty certain I'll be scrapping the late night sets.
The only one I was really amped about (Tea Leaf Green/New Monsoon) is on Thursday and that ain't gonna happen for me. I was thinking about doing the NMAs, but it'll be a total of around $50 when you factor in the ticket price and shuttle fees. Then I'm going to be buying drinks at the venue -- so I'd be looking at an extra hundo when it's all said and done. Not sure I want to drop the cash.

I talked to Ethan earlier this year at the Bang Music Fesival down here in Miami and I was asking him about different bands (this was before the initial lineup) and he said Umphreys were invited but they said they wanted take this year off from Langerado but they said they want to come back in the future.

Latenights will be the highlight for me, STS9/Bisco/PGroove!?!? Plenty of time to nap during Panic too!!! Really excited for Trey, MMW and Tea Leaf also... Im thinkin this one still needs a few additions though... Bring on Pnuma Trio, Keller Williams, U-Melt and ZILLA...
While I'm bummed about missing out on late nights, if any decisions are made last minute, it will probably be via scalped tix. That said, I really doubt that I'll be all too worried at that point in the evening, with the mini camp scene that's bound to be there. There's a good chance I'll be going solo unless my buddy (who fuc*ing posts here...wizzo) gives me the lowdown on his attendance!
Post by Lucid Interval on Jan 25, 2007 0:17:39 GMT -5
Going solo rocks man... I'll definately meet up with ya, im gunna be with some peeps i met last summer here and there... We can definately camp together and chill out if you need a home base, solo can be ALOT of fun, i always meet way more people that way and have much more open ended adventures hehe... Stay in touch man, im campin' i'll be there...
I'll definitely be around on the board here pre-fest, so a meet up is necessary. Even if my buddy (wizzo...I'm waiting) ends up coming, we'll have to hook our sh*t up and construct our own little 'city of floating about seventeen inches off the ground.'

I'm starting to get really excited. We haven't decided on any late night shows yet. Don't know if we're even going to make it for the late night shows. I've heard it's sort of a hassle so we may just chill and have a few beers, etc. after the headliners finish each night. This is intended more as a very chill festival for me.

Right now I'm serious about seeing the following shows:
FRIDAY
Tea Leaf Green The Hold Steady Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks STS9 Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Trey Anastasio
SATURDAY
Kieren Hebden and Steve Reid Perpetual Groove Soulive Greyboy Allstars Disco Biscuits Medeski Martin and Wood My Morning Jacket
NOTE: Anyone else concerned about a potential Greyboy Allstars/Disco Biscuits/MMW/Franti and Spearhead clash on Saturday? If all four of those bands (or even two at a time) are playing simultaneously I don't know what I'll do with myself...
SUNDAY
Girl Talk Band of Horses Explosions in the Sky Toots and the Maytals The New Pornographers Widespread Panic
(and Cat Power/Los Lobos/Matisyahu if I can swing it)
What can you guys tell me about Lotus, New Monsoon, and Toubab Krewe. I've not seen any of them, and I might like to shoot over and catch one of their shows...
Yeah, Toubab are a blast. Very beat driven, but melodic, Mali rooted instrumentals, by a bunch of dudes from North Carolina. I saw them at a tiny festival here last year and they were the first band that really got the whole crowd up and moving. Very, very fun stuff.
New Monsoon are a fairly traditional jam band, rooted in classic rock, with some world music stuff moving through many of their tunes. Unlike a lot of other jam bands though, they can pull off a variety of styles without sounding masturbatory -- they're really talented musicians to boot.
I'm doing my best not to get my hopes up about catching everyone I want. Like you said, I want this fest to be more "chill" than Roo. We'll see how well I can maintain that attitude though...

you guys should deffinatly try to see girl talk. he is amazing. i saw him at a really small fest in conn (the I AM Festival) and it was rediculous. he invited the crowd to come up and dance on stage and he ended the night playing and singing along to nirvana songs
