Just got lectured by an ignoramous that gay couples shouldn't be given he same tax benefits as heterosexual couples because they can't procreate. Grrrrrr.

Lol, that has to be one of the dumbest arguments on the planet. So then, hetero couples who can't conceive naturally should also be kept from the same tax benefits?

After I pointed that out he realized his only option was to say yes. He voted for Ron Paul, ftr.

I'm not quite sure how this applies at all to your story.

Ron Paul is of the "I don't give a sh*t what you do" camp regarding gay marriage.
Say what you want about the old dog, but he feels the gov't should butt out in all aspects, marriage included. His personal belief is that marriage is between a man and a woman, but he's said he wouldn't support legislation that put those terms in the constitution.

Right that was the point of my post. I didn't understand why it was specified which politician/ideology the person supported. Ignorance knows no boundaries.
Unless I completely misread his post and he was implying exactly what I said above..

I think Ron Paul came up because of the irony (or whatever it is, help me here karosko) of this person arguing about how homosexual couples shouldn't receive the same tax benefits as heterosexual couples while also supporting a guy whose main political belief is that the government shouldn't be in your business. One of these things is not like the other.

I think it's safe to say that a vast number of people routinely vote against themselves in Presidential and federal elections. Like all the idiotic low-income families who vote for the Presidential candidate that will cut all their gov't aid that they need to live.
Stupid people get to vote, and that's actually frightening.

Yeah, I read an op-ed before the election that was speculating on how many people who consistently complain about the 47% are people who are actually in the 47% but don't know it.

Not really a grrrrrrrrrrr, more siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I wish people would just come to work and put in at least a minimal amount of effort. Two more hours in the work day and almost all of those hours will be dealing with written warnings, verbal warnings and more. All it takes is some minor effort and it wouldnt have to be this way.
First, in regards to Flanzo's comment about gay marriage. Any politician who says they want to give the issue of gay marriage to the states is implicitly saying that they are against gay marriage on a federal level. It's like how Christie vetoed gay marriage and said it should be voted on by referendum. Ron Paul would veto gay marriage on the federal level- and you are defending his straw man "it's an issue for the states" defense? Give me a break.
Now on to my grrr. I just discovered that 3 of my finals are on consecutive days at the very beginning of finals period. Which means I lose a whole week of studying AND I have to deal with the fatigue of taking three exams on consecutive days. I'm bugging out, and am considering not going home for thanksgiving. Ugh.

GRRRRRR. My car broke down on the way home tonight. It is on the side of the road as we speak & will stay there tonight. Hoping & praying my husband can fix it tomorrow b/c I can't afford to put it in the shop. Trying to figure out how to get to work tomorrow. And home from work. And I had big plans to go out of town this weekend.

I'm sure that in the end, it will have been nothing to really worry about, but I'm scheduled on Tuesday to have a minor procedure that promises to be quite very unpleasant, and I'm (probably unfoundedly) worried about the outcome. So, it's not really actually grrr, but I don't know the proper combination of letters to express what I'm feeling. Again, probably no big deal. Just ready to get it over with though.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR at all the randoms coming back to the boards. My patience are going to be very thin for the next 3 months. Must....be......nice..........
