"Message: If you bring drugs to sell at Bonnaroo, the annual outdoor music festival that opens its gates Thursday in Manchester, your stay in Middle Tennessee may be longer than you planned...."
man cant these as.sholes find some better way to waste our tax dollars. you could take any random group ofr 80000 people and tell them to spend 4 days walking around in the baking sun and a couple would die. the drug dogs are b.s. what happend to innocent until proven guilty??? not to mention our search and seizure laws. da.mn nazis!!!!!

If there are fewer drug sellers, there won't be as many drugs available for sale inside the gates, he surmised.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
yeah it sucks, but I'm not sure much of what they can do about it... 80,000 roovians, like 200 cops. sure they might be cracking down a bit harder this time around, but it will only be a dent in the grand scheme of things.
The dogs can't really do much, as the article said there were going to be two of them.
ya. i dont know how effective 2 dogs will be. they cant work all day in the heat. and they are going to mark on nearly every car for small amounts of pot. im sure they will spend most of their time collecting taxes for personal use stashes and most of the dealers will drive by saying im glad thats not us
well atleast if your not a dealer you dont have alot to worry bout aside from losing your stash and your cash to pay the taxes on your stash. atleast you wont be going to jail and missing roo. of course if you dont come back for that court date youll have a nice bench warrant in coffe county. maybe even tennesee. oh well its a numbers game. 80000 people vs. a few cops. plenty will get through. they just cant pass up collecting all of that tax cash. i wonder how much of that gets pocketed? i think they give it all to their off duty buddys and they come into roo and sell it back to us. i wish the pigs would just worry about public safety/traffic and not be douches
lol. ya it was pretty bad last year!!!! haha well im sure another article will surface of this nature this year. at least now we know how much value it has
As pointed out, this is from last year. And as mentioned by others, it definitely was not a big deal for anyone that was in our line coming in. They basically took one look at our packed SUV, decided it wasn't worth the effort, and waved us in.
yeah, I was about to post that.. I read that article last year.. it says Roo 4.. this is year 5.. and I didn't see any dogs last year anyway. if they were to check EVERYONE the way they want.. it's take 2 days to get 80,000 people into the grounds.

I didn't see any dogs last year, and no cops after we got off the interstate (outside of traffic directions). That's some nice PR for the Sheriff not to get invaded by DEA thinking that he tolerates everything, but it's essentially a load of shite.

That article was written alst year before Roo 05'. Look towards the top left. I dont think anyone died from drugs last year.
well that sets its straight. I had the best time last year. I saw enough paper to write a book. so I'm not worrying this year. thanks for pointing out the date of the article.

That message or something simular is going to be issued every year. The cops aren't stupid and they're aware that with any kind of music fest there will be drugs, they're just trying to keep things relatively under control and peaceful. We always make a point to smile and wave, say hi, to offer cold drinks to the ones on traffic duty and otherwise be friendly. 99% of them probably just want to work their shift and go home with no hassles. During the last two Roo's most of the people we saw with law trouble were pulled over for speeding on the way, smoking a joint in car in line (that was kind of funny actually) and for selling nitrous (the 1000 empty balloons was kind of a give away). We're never been searched or seen a drug dog (has anyone?).
