Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
From a little YouTubing I'm pretty pumped about Tiesto, I loved Underworld for a while and I was lucky enough to get my head rearranged by Daft Punk at Coachella, but otherwise this scene is a mystery to me, especially when people start putting genres names to things. I've also heard plenty of DJ'ing/electronica that I don't like so I need help in filtering.
Does anyone know if a site laying out the various genres with samples to help me get educated?

no problem ;D
the best bet is to just listen to lots of diffferent djs and you discover genres along the way
I'll give you karma too, even though I prefer to only spend it on people who are currently planning to attend Bonnaroo this year, and despite the fact that this site could very well only add to my problem of liking too many genres and lead to even more conflicts than I'm already doomed to endure.

Like he said - I am afraid I will find more and more to like which will cause even more conflicts - I like almost all electrinica/dance/rave/trance type music - I am not sure I need to find more genres of it all
Holy crap - Becca - that website is fun - I found all kinds of music I had forgotten about - now I have to go find it, buy it, download it - something......

Well, I used the wikipedia link, but I'll check out the other...I also like trip hop and whatever Aphex Twin is (it just says Electronic music, which I guess is accurate).
I pretty much just listen to The Crystal Method as far as techno, I like the heavy breakbeats...not so much that rainbow unicorns in space doodie.
And that happy hardcore, that's the chipmunky sounding stuff, right?
