I drove past Manchester with my son this weekend, he always hears his mother and me blab on about the Roo, I thought I would drive by the gates and show him the hallowed ground....much to my surprise there is a new Starbucks and Huddle House (that's Waffle House to the Northern folks) right beside the Holiday Inn across from Wally World at the Manchester exit. Neither one looked to be open yet, but opening soon. I tried to imagine 500 Roo'ers in line for a hemp mocha....
ya i wouldnt either. but if the sun wakes me up at 7 am, which it will. i could definetl dig a big stack of waffles and some eggs. i doubt i would ever have the energy to walk there but im betting it will be pretty busy throughout roo.

Not having spent much time in the South, I'd never been to a Waffle House until the one in Murfreesboro during last year's 'Roo. It was great! Nothing like laying a good strong base for a big day of being festive.
We don't have any Huddle Houses here in Memphis; it's funny, I've never even heard of them. We do have Waffle Houses, but I've always been partial to the greasier, and imho, more genuine CK's Coffee Shop. Sure, it hurts when you're done, but man, is it good while it lasts.

I for one love the corporate fat cats at Starbucks and would gladly patronize them if they set up shop right in Centeroo. But outside of the gates is too far away for me to care about.

Starbux makes a killer passion tea lemonade. I love those things while sitting in the hot sun. I will be wanting one down in the Tenn. sun. To bad I dont have a hook up to get the stuff free. I can't see paying for starbux at the roo.

This section of the Waffle House site contains some impressive statistics, such as that they've served over 1 billion orders of grits and over 1.5 trillion orders of eggs. www.wafflehouse.com/funfacts.htm
