So does anyone think that Phil Lesh will come out and play with Darkstar? Would be kind of cool!
Plus...
Since Darkstar seems to always take a dead show and play it in its entirety I wonder what show they will do at the roo?????
Usually at festivals Dark Star doesn't do dead shows...more of like a 'best of' compilation of sorts. They just don't have the time available at festies, most dead shows are at least 3 hours long. But I do think Phil is gonna come out and jam with them.

I'm hoping that they finally do a full out late night on Thursday night and dedicate a tent (The Other Tent?) to cover bands. So they would give a few hours to Lez Zeppelin, followed by a full late night (1-4) to Dark Star.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.
I'm really pleasantly surprised to see them playing. I thought that there weren't going to be any tribute bands at Bonnaroo? I may be wrong, but I'm sure I saw someone say that Superfly has said that before....(then again, just because one person says it doesn't make it true).
But my question is, if Phil is already playing two sets during the weekend, why do they have a Grateful Dead tribute band playing? Why not a different band? I think if I'm already going to see Phil play twice I'd rather see a tribute to Pink Floyd or someone later in the weekend. Why not the Aussie Pink Floyd, or Wish You Were Here?

I'm thinking the same thing...a DSO latenight thursday would rock...2-3 hrs should be enough time for a set and if Phil shows up...that much more awesome
Dark star will play a late night for sure. I think it would be sick if John from Dark Star were to play guitar with Phil during the Friends set. Just a thought. DSO is awesome!
also please dont hate me for this because I am a huge DeadHead and aside from the Beatles they are my favorite band ever, but I think that when DSO covers a Dead show post 1982---they sound better than the Dead did originally. Not saying i would rather see them perform than the Dead but just listening to the audio....
If they get a latenight slot (which they should) then I'm sure they'll recreate a show ... I have a feeling though they'll be playing in the day with only an hour and a half ... It'll still be a good timethough.

I also think Dark Star is a thursday night act, as well as is Lez Zeppelin. DSO will probably close out the last stage thursday, which is semi-late night. (1-2 am). I really hope they go with an expanded thursday late night this year, but I really doubt they will have shows go past 2 or 3 (they've never gone past 2).
I sort of Doubt Phil would play with DSO. simply b/c DSO doesn't really need Phil to be Good. Hopefully Superfly gives them enough time to do what they do best (recreate entire GD shows by setlist).

It's very possible they can get a full late night slot this year... They're playing 11-2 at Langerado on Thursday night, so surely they can do the same at the Roo.
I'm hoping this is the case, because I think I might have to see Perpetual Groove at Rado instead and save my Dark Star fix until June...

OH WOW. I've seen DSO twice before and both times they did not recreate a dead show. They did two originals. Both were amazing I might add...but Im still waiting to see that recreation. All you have to do is close your eyes and they sound exactly like the dead. Seeing them at bonnaroo will be amazing, especially if they are playing a long set late night
