Alright, I'm off to bed, good luck trying to sort through the zep rumors... I'll be dreaming sweet dreams tonight about a zep show this year at the 'roo
Rock me mama like wagon wheel, rock me mama any way you feel, hey, mama rock me. Rock me mama like the wind and the rain, rock me mama like a south-bound train, hey, mama rock me...

hmm, I kinda like the "three certain birds - add one" meaning 3 headliners and another coming. I know birds is vague for headliners, but what could they say that wouldn't have given away exactly what they were doing if that's the case?
Sadly, I think the Led Zeppelin thing was a mistake. I just got a copy of the official press release AC Superfly sent out. It appears that they were having a little fun with the Zep rumor. After the initial header paragraph in the release, it says "LEZ ZEPPELIN CONFIRMED," making a joke out of a great cover band and, possibly, setting off mass confusion for people who can't read good.
Wow, wow, wow. The level of douche-tude in doing that is off the charts

I'm going to set my prejudice and hater-attitude aside and am anxious to see METALLICA
I'll probably head in for like 3 songs, or maybe I'll just.. not
I may use that time to eat a proper dinner and get nice and drunk for late night (something I've not been able to do the past 5 years) but I may go see Metallica just to experience it. I thought TOOL was a shitty idea last year and just look at how wrong they proved me!
just to make clear... it seems a lot of people on these boards have only been to the last two roos. the first three were COMPLETELY different than the last three. The vibe definitely began to change in 2006. there was so much magic in this festival in the initial beginnings and it seems it has gone by the wayside in order to attract the masses, not the kind of people that were there in the beginning. I agree that Bonnaroo is one of the best festivals in this world but there comes a time when it needs to examine itself as one for the people, not one for its own intentions. imagine the whole centeroo this year... the environentalists preaching to a bunch of metalheads (used loosely) who could care less.

I am not a metalhead, by no means, but I enjoy a diverse amount of music. I enjoy many kinds of music and keep a very open mind. I enjoy watching talented musicians do what they do best. Regardless of what style of music they play.

just had to vent for a second, sorry guys.
true stuff. but it's hard to keep things from changing, so you just learn to respect it for what it is and not for what it used to be, or else you get lost in the past and are only cynical and dismissive to what the future offers.
maybe though, someday (soon hopefully), someone will go out and start a new festival, bringing things back to its roots. it would be an undertaking for sure, but that's pretty much how and why roo got started.
you just gotta enjoy it for what it is. bottom line.
i will be getting a awesome late night spot while metallica is playing.not even for one song.ive been to every bonnaroo never thought this would happen
c'mon guys... "it's all about the money".... has anybody played bonnaroo for free!!!!!!!??? like them or not, you should respect them.... maybe not as individuals. but certainly, as one of the best bands of all time... do they fit? obviously f5cking so... they are on the lineup....
same damn people that were whining about tool last year.. now they are all saying it was EPIC, man...
besides, there are a ton of jam bands and other nuts to do... you all say you are worried about 'tallicas crowd? what color is that kettle? you all are the ones being hostile...

I am totally down with the "go and have fun" attitude. There's no way I'm going to see Metallica (just don't like their music), Jack Johnson (sorry, bro, not my fare) or Kanye (he and I have a personal vendetta, via Mr. Lif), but I will still go. My crew has been talking about this for months, getting together how and when we're going to get there. We'll have our tix on the 16th, and we'll have a helluva time. I'm excited for the 'roo because it's the 'roo and you can't change the inside by dressing up the outside (even if it's wearing a slayer t-shirt and bling). This festival has heart, people, and I'm ready to see it again.

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."

so then what the hell was that manchester clue about now?
Maybe some of the clues are for unconfirmed acts. Personally, I hope it's for the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, and that they'll play with Metallica. THAT I would watch.
And why is it that Allison Krauss and Robert Plant are like the ONLY ones not to have some sort of write-up about them... it's just a picture... maybe because it's temporary? (cross fingers)
Wow. So disappointing to see people talking about what Bonnaroo is really supposed to be about while those same people make generalizations about the type of people who show up for certain acts. Bad vibes can be generated by anyone, not just fans of [insert name of band you don't like here].
Life is nothing but change; why should the Roo be any different?
Yepp.
And I'm kinda lookin' forward to Kanye. He seems like kind of a douche, but seriously, a hell of a lot of musicians are. And even still, his music is actually decent to listen to.
