Jimmy Page: 'No More Led Zeppelin Concerts Until September' At least...

Led Zeppelin will not play together again until at least September, according to the band’s guitarist Jimmy Page.
Speaking in Tokyo this morning (January 28th), Page said that Robert Plant’s touring commitments with Alison Krauss were currently the frontman’s main priority.
"I can assure you the amount of work that we put into the O2 (concert), for ourselves rehearsing and the staging of it, was probably what you put into a world tour," Page told Reuters. Story continues below...
"Robert Plant also had a parallel project running and he's really busy with that project, certainly until September, so I can't give you any news."
Reminiscing about the concert, which saw over 1 million people register for just 9000 pairs of tickets, the guitarist described the experience as “exhilarating” and “fantastic”.
“Every week was a week to look forward to, we did the show and it was great,” he added
I dunno...the fact that he keeps referring to them being too busy to put something like that together seems like it wont happen. I wanted to see them @ Roo, but after this I'm a believer that they wont be there. Who knows though...weirder has happened.

Y'all are talking about a one-off gig like it's nothing. O2 was a one-off, and it took months of preparation. Zep clearly and plainly will not put their efforts into preparing for any show or shows until they are able, which as Page said won't be until September. It's really not going to happen.
But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. As I've said elsewhere, I think this news makes their appearance in '09 as very, very, VERY likely.
I'm glad to hear that it's officially not gonna happen til later on.
That's better news to me than if they were to be at Roo, so I'm happy.
Now, have them be pretty well into their tour, THEN let Bonnaroo get em, and voila. No worries of tickets, and we can get Led Zep at the farm with few worries...

I'm officially throwing in the towel on any hope of Zep this year.
I would bet dollars to donuts that we see Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews. The third headliner is anyone's guess. Frankly, I'd be stoked for Roger Waters regardless of whether he is at Coachella or not.

I'm convinced that Roo '09 will be headlined by Zeppelin. Roo '08 will not.
I don't see how anyone can take all these articles that say "LZ may tour after September" and then all the band members agreeing that Plant and Krauss takes priority over any reunion and all that other jazz and then say it still looks good for Zeppelin to show up at Roo this year. Feel free to enlighten me, but it's hard for me to see any evidence of it looking remotely positive. ???
Well that's certainly disappointing. Hopefully Roo has some good enough headliners up their sleeves to at least somewhat appease people.
lol, are you crazy? at least somewhat appeasing? give them a little credit, they havn't disapointed us before! If you were only going to roo because of led zep, that's kinda sad. there are soooooooooooooo many awesome bands.

I think this may be a very smart way of diluting some of the hype...
It's a known fact that Bonnaroo is doing everything within their power to get Zep. It's also safe to say that if they were to hype this up, it will be madness...
You will have half the world wanting to get 'Roo tix! Over 2 MILLION people requested tickets to the O2 show... I read that some folks were paying 2k per ticket as well....
IF they book Zep, they should just let them superjam on the main stage for the REAL 'Roo crowd. Not just folks who are coming for Zep...
Just my take on all this... I'm cool either way... I'm sure Plant will be popping up everywhere like JPJ did last year.

you never know, maybe superfly is asking them to make it seem like they won't be there at least i can hope lol
It's really obvious that everything leads directly to LZ headlining this year. First, JPJ all over Bonnaroo last year, Plant-Krauss album, O2 show (just for practice, conveniently disguised as Ertegun tribute), rumours, Superfly denials, more rumours, Page denials = only possible conclusion, the world revolves around Bonnaroo ;D (or mass delusions of grandeur).

IMO, i would feel more honored to be at their first american appearance since...god knows when 1977?
not to mention they would be the perfect 'wow factor' the roo is known for...i understand the ticket issue...but i know for one, i'll be off work the day tickets go on sale to make that my job...i'm not really worried about that...i just want to see them...
its freakin' zeppelin...
imo of course.
oh yeah...nom nom nom, if you didn't already know by the rant...
After this year's 'Roo both Plant and JPJ will have been on the farm. Hopefully they will both have had positive experiences. That can't do anything but give us a good chance for 2009.
