I am a noob at this board and am not really sure how to post. Anyway this site has WSP for Bonnaroo on Thursday, June 12, 2008. Don't know how reliable this is or anything but figured I would post it.
I looked it up. That's a pretty legit source. Good find. Karma.

When you click on the Tool link on the site it also lists them as playing in 08. This is just the ticket broker using a big name to sell tickets at a higher price.

SWEET!!!! TOOL, DIERKS BENTLEY, LILY ALLEN AND WIDESPREAD PANIC ARE THREE OF MY FAVORITE ACTS AND THEY ARE ALL PLAYING ON THURSDAY JUNE 12 AT BONNAROO... WHEEEE!
ahem... may i have your attention. Thanks you. The above statement was inaccurate... i actually like Tool.
I just wanted to post the link so that people could discuss. Tool, Dierks Bentley, Lily Allen and Widespread Panic wouldn't be a bad Thursday...even though we all know that it probably won't happen.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

You may not realize that ALL these acts played last year, so it's just last year's line-up being pushed as this year's. Delete the "probably" from that last sentence.
I have tuned in Radio Bonnaroo off and on and basically they conbined the artists from this years roo and Vegoose. They haven't made any changes yet to the station.

No I do know that all of those played last year. I was there, and saw all of them except, for Dierks. I was just being a little sarcastic. Anywho if there was by some cosmic chance that it could happen, it would be cool.

Sorry Jbrim55 but i'm going to have to say that that source is unreliable if they are showing bands they had last year only which would display itself as a possible rumor or marketing deception of some sort. I'm ho[ing though that they change the format and make thursdays either a full day or a half day wtih a headliner. Bonnaroo must last longer.
I just really hope for more Flaming Lips and White Stripes. Those were my two favorites last year. Either way, I'm sure there will be more than enough there to make me happy!
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I was glancing at USA Today in the kitchen at work and on the front page of the purple section, they had a few lines about Bonnaroo. Here was my thought process and approx. what they wrote:
“Bonnaroo anounced their dates, June 12-15…”
Yay!
“And Bruce Springstein…”
Huh? That was never in the rumors thread...
“will be playing in NJ in July.”
Hahahaha – the way it was written, at first it looked like Bruce was going to be at Bonnaroo, which throughly confused me, until I read the rest of the paragraph. That’s what I get for skimming!

I saw the same thing and initially got very excited. I felt dumb after re-reading it.
It's sort of akin to Bjork or The Beastie Boys. I think these acts are all too big to headline a late night stage, but not big enough to headline the festival. Could be wrong though...
The Beastie Boys I think are definitely big enough, but I agree about the other two. The Cure are a nostalgia act that were never THAT big (I mean Police big) to begin with, so it's not a huge draw. And Bjork may be well known, but she's too controversial (read: weird) to be a headliner.
Björk, Beastie Boys and The Cure have all headlined @ Coachella festival, which I believe draws in about 60K people. Björk is too... eccentric... to headline, but I think the other two could pull it off. I saw the Cure headline Coachella 04 and from what I saw, they could pull it off. Added bonus: FLips had the pre-headline slot. As for the B-Boys... if all 85K (give or take) people @ Bonnaroo had the option to see them, you would probably draw in at least as many as that 60K headlining Coachella.
I think the Beasties & Rage Against the Machine would make for an excellent co-headliner combo. They had plans for a co-headlining tour 7-8 years ago that never came to be.
The O2 show is now over .But it was a sellout and sounds like so far it went well. I think IF they tour,Bonnaroo Should be a stop on the tour If you think about it , the Police did it last year . Led Zep this year. HMMMMM Who would it be the yr after next ?
