1. Officially, 9am on Thurs. You can get in earlier but you generally get stuck w/ a very bad camping spot. 2. There will be signs on the interstate miles before you get there, plus you can't miss the line. 3. There is a cursory check of each car (glovebox, center console, glance in the coolers), don't give them a reason to dig deeper and they probably wont. Alcohol OK, glass containers are a no no (bury them in the coolers), as far as drugs go they mainly look to keep the dealing under control. There are a couple of bands that play at midnight Thurs, the main lineup starts Fri morn.

Also, I know this has mentioned elsewhere, but not in too much detail...We don't have to have a car to get through the gates, correct? I mean we can walk right? And if so, where is the entrance for those of us on foot? Is it at the main tollbooths where the cars go?

If you wanna walk in you'll be going through the same entrance as everyone else, just on foot as opposed to in a vehicle... You'll still be subject to the same search as everyone else, (you might have it easier than a van full of peeps) but that doesnt mean that just cause you're on foot that you'll get away with anything....
if you wanna do a mapquest to Bonnaroo, use the address:
1 Bushy Branch Raod Manchester, TN
and the car search isnt bad. its quick. they just check for big things, like large amounts of drugs, nitrous tanks, kegs, huge fireworks, and of course glass containers.
