If the show is successful, Led Zeppelin is expected to plan a world tour for 2008.
1) If?? What's this 'if' ridiculousness? Like anyone who attends that concert will walk away saying, "They were good, but... ehh, I wish I was seeing Coldplay tomorrow night instead." IF that's really their provision, then they WILL tour.
2) I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, least of all mine, but consider that if they do a world tour (there's that 'if' again), that'll naturally include at least a few stops in the US. And if Led Zeppelin were to tour in the US, we all know, sure as the noses on our faces, that Superfly would at least try to book them. That's all I'll say about that.
Exactly. I'm not telling all my friends Led Zeppelin is going to play Roo next year. It just makes me anxious for details from the Nov. show, AND anxious for announcements come Feb.

'Millions' rush for Zeppelin gig
The surviving band members have not played together for 19 years An estimated 20 million people rushed to register for tickets to see Led Zeppelin as soon as the band announced their reunion, promoters have said. The remaining members of the legendary rock group will play a one-off show at the 20,000-capacity O2 arena in London on 26 November, they said on Wednesday.

Robert Plant apparently cleared up the rumors and said that IT IS ONLY 1 show...i read somewhere online he said they just need to play 1 last good show cause they have played shows that have been crap...don't get me wrong...led zeppelin at roo would be the greatest thing to happen to bonnaroo...but its looking like its not going to happen...plus it would sell out to quick...i think there's a better chance of robert plant playing a solo show with whatever his band is nowadays...especially since he collaborated with alison krauss recently for a new album...anyways if that is robert plants opinion on led zeppelin getting back for a tour then that is shit and just plain sucks...i would love to know whats going on in his head...doesnt he not realize that they are one of the greatest bands of the 20th century and getting back together for a world tour would make nearly every music fan everywhere piss themselves...he's making me think he could give two shits about the fans...

well hopefully we get jimmy page with the black crowes, and if that doesn't happen, how about bustle in your hedgerow, the instrumental benevento/russo and others zeppelin tribute band, but i'd rather get page and the crowes....
Page and the Crowes would be great! As would Plant and Krauss!
.....maybeeee if they just happened to play on the same day.....and JPJ just happened to be hanging around.....maybe they might play a few songs together.....

i know this is the wrong section but i think aside from possible zeppelin members being there, the next best thing in my mind would be if eric clapton headlined, imagine the possibilities of collaborations he could have specifically john mayer or derek trucks, how about bb king or jj cale or if jimmy page, okay, sorry my mind is starting to wonder and i'm having all kinds of thoughts, i need to take a break...
LONDON - Led Zeppelin, one of the last major acts to resist digital distribution, are releasing their back catalog online.
Led Zeppelin said their songs, including "Communication Breakdown," "Whole Lotta Love" and "Stairway to Heaven," will be available from online music stores Nov. 13. The band is due to release a two-CD retrospective, "Mothership," the same day.
"We are pleased that the complete Led Zeppelin catalog will now be available digitally," guitarist Jimmy Page said in a statement Monday. "The addition of the digital option will better enable fans to obtain our music in whichever manner that they prefer."
The band has signed a separate deal with Verizon Wireless to offer their songs as ringtones and downloads to mobile phones, Verizon said in a statement.
The Beatles are the highest-profile holdouts for digital distribution.
Led Zeppelin, which split up in 1980 after the death of drummer John Bonham, announced last month they were reuniting for a Nov. 26 concert in London. The lineup includes Page, singer Robert Plant and bass player John Paul Jones, along with Bonham's son Jason, on drums.
More than 1 million fans entered a draw for a chance to buy one of the 10,000 tickets to the show. The concert is a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died last year.
neither, in my opinion...what difference does it make, really?
I guess I agree. I suppose if you don't already own the music then getting the songs for .99 off Itunes is a good deal. Otherwise, you've probably already burned it to your PC.

hey, i just looked at the led zeppelin site (i just saw this site for the first time, so i didn't know about the possible reunion) and it says the show has been postponed until Dec. 10, 2007 because jimmy page fractured his finger. if they were waiting until the show to announce a world tour, it looks like we will have to wait a little longer, sadly!!!!
i'm with you guys, i'll be over the moon if i find out they're going to play bonnaroo!! a little longer to wait may be worth it if we find out they're coming to roo!!

I'd like to see Led Zeppelin at the Bonnaroo farm next summer...not necessarily Bonnaroo, but they own the land now. They can do whatever they want. Anyone think it will happen? How about a Pink Floyd or Phish reunion there as well?
So for any of you that have XM, they've added a Led Zeppelin only channel that will run through May 2008... I'll let you make your own speculations on whether there's any significance behind this...

Led Zeppelin reunion: band will play new song live
11/20/2007 4:00 PM, courtesy of NME.com
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has revealed that his band will perform a track they have never played live before at their forthcoming O2 Arena show in London on December 10.
Speaking to Reuters, Page gave a vague clue as to the period the song comes from--although he offered a 12-year time zone.
"There's one number that we rehearsed, I assume that it will make it to the Dome, that we never played at any point in time," he explained. "It dates from when the band was together between 1968 and 1980. It's a really intense number."
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
Did anyone mention yet that the lead singer from The Cult said they would be opening for a band that has the letters "L and Z" in their name in 2008 in Cincinnati?

John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Well Zeppelin considered the Live Aid reunion (with phil collins on drums, eww) a complete and total failure. I believe the quote was something like "only one man could hold our band together, and he's dead"
So i think alot of it rests on how well ole' Bonham junior does behind the skins. Personally i think they should have taken a hint from superjam last year and recruited ?uestlove, that man is a guaranteed success.

Jason Bonham has played with them before, or at least Page and Plant, his style sounds just like his dad, that's who taught him, what better than to have someone who has a connection by blood
