I'd be down for Badfish and Dark Star but that's about it. Come to think of it, I'm only familiar with a few cover bands. Anyone know any really good ones?

You wanna hear a good cover band? Check out the Australian Pink Floyd show! They're light show is amazing and their playing is dead on. You wouldn't be able to tell if it was a cover band or not.

I think they're an ohio band mostly, but wish you were here is a really solid floyd cover band as well. It was awesome seeing them play great gig in the sky, whisper included. ;D

Dude. I saw Super Diamond open for The Faint and I was so annoyed. Haha, it certainly was not my cup of tea. It was during the "Sin City Tour" which was sponsored by Camel Cigarettes. I had no idea going into the show what was going to happen, but the opening acts were: a shitty comedian, a guy that swallowed about thirty lit cigarettes, five poll dancers, these guys that did headstands and somersaults, about ten more "strippers", then Super Diamond.
I sat through about three hours of crap before the Faint finally tore it up.

Whoa! Damn, man... you are right. I figured I'd give them a shot, being a big Pink Floyd fan and I looked them up on youtube:
That cover of "Dogs" sounded like Roger, Dave, and the boys. That IS NOT an easy song to cover. It is like 7 different songs packed into one and if there is a mistake made, it sticks out (the music is composed so tightly). I didn't hear one mis-step and, while it sounded just like Floyd, they added the necessary 'passion' to the performance/music... the light show also seemed very good (not on a Pink Floyd level, but very good, considering).
This band would be perfect at 'Roo for some late-night Floyd.
I saw a really good Dead cover band in New York about 10 years ago called the Zen Tricksters. I'm not really sure if they are still together or what, but they were an EXCELLENT Dead cover band.
the zen tricksters arent a dead cover band. they do play some dead tunes. and donna jean plays with them alot. i have seen them a few times and they always do put on a great show!!!but a cover band they are not.

Hmmm... I only saw them once and it was on "Grateful Dead Night" at the Crossroads Bar (now gone) in NYC. They were great. I just sort of figured they were a dead cover band... I guess they limited themselves to covers because it was "Dead Night".
That bar/club was great... I was sorry to see it go.
