-I don't think think George Clinton will be fully recognized as the significant 20th Century political thinker/psychologist/philosopher/musician/weirdo that he is until after my lifetime. It's not hard to recognize the weirdo part, but there is some sophisticated thought in his body of work.

A Johnny Cash mix made for me by a good friend. Many are duets with Willie Nelson. Also includes some country classics like 'Hot Rod Lincoln' and the Dukes of Hazzard Theme.
Next up: DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing.'
'Course, before 10 and after 4 there's not usually much music playing in my office--that's when the NPR news is on. Anyone else utterly addicted to public radio news?

Listening to LivePhishRadio and diggin it. Can't seem to get off this Phish kick, but I am familiar with most of the bands playing roo this year, so I don't need to spend too much time getting to know most of the music. Last year I spent a good 2 months familiarizing myself with alot of music I had never even heard of. I think being exposed to so many great bands last year really sparked me to explore more musically this past year and I have found tons of good tunes since.

yeah, i just recently got into the stone roses, but love that album. the MMJ thing is just a little live EP from a halloween show they did last year. it's only five songs, but it's a gorgeous little release. you can read some more about it on their website www.mymorningjacket.com.
i've heard so much about brian jonestown massacre, but have never gotten around to hearing them...i'll have move them up on the priority list. yeah, schubas is an incredible little venue, with spectacular sound, and the handful of shows i've caught there have been great.
