Tommy actually was a musician first...he released a mid chart single before he ever met Cheech. I last announced that I was going to a Tommy Chong show in the spring of 2000, and it was a great show!!! And he actually is a guitar player first, drummer second.

Yeah thanks for the 411 casey, didn't know he played the guitar. last i heard he had a standup routine couple years ago...or i thought it was a standup routine..
no offense taken and vice versa thomaroo...i just see chong as one of those who never sold out and would love to see him...i thought with it being a parade that maybe the grand marshall was just going to sit up on a float and wave while the band was on a float or two farther back..but hey, i've never been in a parade so i wouldn't know..
Wow, I honestly had no idea that he was a musician. Thanks for the info guys. There's my something new for the day. I'm going back to bed now. Hahaha, i wish, but that is pretty cool.
And you're right Tommy has been one of the few in this crazy world that has not sold out in any way, and has been true all the way, so hell yeah bring him on in the parade. I'm down with that.
Oh yeah, where might i be able to find some of his tunes? Now I'm pretty curious what he brings to the table as far as his music goes? What style does he have? Thanks for any insight.
Just to be clear...The "show" I was talking about was a stand-up show and he was not playing guitar at the show. I don't think he's been a serious musician since before "Cheech and Chong", but I do think he'd be a great Grand Marshall, considering all the extra curricular activities going on at Bonnaroo. He does stand for the "Free Spirit" of Bonnaroo....But I still think Dr. John would be more appropriate

I have a feeling it'll be les
Can't be, Primus has a show on Friday in Columbus. Plus he is already scheduled to be at Bonnaroo, so it's not like it would be that "special."
I don't think Primus is on tour right now homes. Les is touring w/ his band RIGHT after 'roo, and we know O-Head has to be Friday. Where did this info come from?
OH - Sorry - I didn't realize this thread was 2 years old!!
Wow, man, people can't just be pulling back threads from 2004 without warning... this is messing with my head, I don't even know where I was this time in '04...
Just no one from American Idol, PLEASE!!! We were HUNG out to dry in 04 Ah yes, I can remember back when this was just a baby thread. It's been some years now, and I can honestly say that's it's blossomed into a slightly larger baby
