Hey whats up. Ive been getting into disco biscuits lately and just had a few questions about the concerts. I was over at a db message board and everyone seemed like a complete fucking psycho....talking about like wild orgies and fights at the shows...not that i believe everyhting i read over there but are the disco shows really out of control and a lot crazier than normal shows? thanks....

the pt disco boards are crazy... and sooommmeee disco biscuits fans are but overall the shows are chill depending on what the people your with are doing... i can't imagine their being any problems at roo... but the shows are a crazy dance party so it is reminscent of a rave, but not nearly as much like one as you would think.... they're just a funky band with a real good time and a somewhat shitty following scene
i think as the band grows (which they will and are doing) the scene will straighten itself out a bit too... so i wouldn't worry about roo or any shows you go to, although you may see some shit you don't want to (like people doing coke, really fucked up people, etc.) but no fights or orgies... unless you are looking for them and create them ha

I've seen way more sketchy sh*t go down in Dead and Phish lots than i've ever seen at Bisco... Hell sketchier sh*t at Bonnaroo without the Bisco even playing for that matter... Its all stigma... It is a bit different from the straight hippie scene but the vibe is still strong and positive... Picture kind of a hippie/raver/college kid crowd, Bisco rocks, go check em out....
I was sort of inquiring about all the rumors also and think I started a similar thread a few months back -- like Lucid said, it might just be a stigma more than anything else. There were comments at the past couple of Roos I attended, about how 'DB fans are just a mess' and that there are groups that can seriously 'creat problems' or 'kill a vibe pretty quick.' So yeah, there are stereotypes, regardless of validity. Whatever though, I hope there aren't any serious conflicts because my curiousity has spiked wildly over the last year or so after a little bit of exposure.

Ive only seen a few bisco shows in and around chcago, it did not strike me as particulrly decadent, and like lucid said, ive seen sketchier buisness at phish shows. Their fanbase might be more urban or raveish than moe. or SCI, but its still good positive vibes all around. And if someone wants to do a lil blow or some molly, more power to them as long as theyre not hurting others or themselves. Just dont be a drag on the scene, take responsibility for your actions, and have a good time
yeah I've only been to 3 bisco shows, so I'm no expert, but I didn't see anything that would be considered too wild or crazy, just normal stuff that you'd see at a rave..the occasional "waaay too effed up" person, maybe a little molly induced heavy petting here and there.. nothing serious..
or maybe it's just that I'd been to enough raves to be desensitized to all the craziness.. I dunno..
I agree that I've seen much shadier and crazier stuff on Phish tour
haha.. now it's got me thinking about Phish tour...

I have been to 50 Biscuit shows and i have never seen or been involved in an orgie. If there was a band that I could go see and there would be a possibility of an orgie I would pay at least 10 bucks to get in.
Seriously, The only reason i am going to the Roo again is because the biscuits are playing late night. They will bring the party and you better Bring yo ass to the PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah basically i wasnt worried abotu the crowd at roo..but im thinking about going to camp bisco..and i wanna bring my girlfriend..i dont mind seeing sketchy shit(i actually kind of like it) but she isnt into the whole drug scene to much and really only blazes so im not sure if it will be tooo much for her...she was fine at roo..so if it is nothing more than that she should be fine.

I was at Camp Bisco last year and it wasnt all that sketchy, chill smaller fest, good vibes ALOT of "Stuff" flying around and people getting spun but thats everywhere really... This kid i met on the bus and i were wondering if it was gunna end up being a Wookfest on the way in but it was a GREAT time, really diverse group, great tunes and good vibes...
