We are now about 2 months out from the show and, maybe I am just being greedy, but I am tired of waiting for announcements. I paid for my tickets the minute they went on sale and feel like I deserve to get a full picture for that price. Hopefully they will do one more announcement (the sooner the better) and just announce all of the bands so we dont have to continue waiting for the full line up.

I can see it both ways. On one hand, waiting for the announcements helps pass the time until June. Can you imagine the wait if there were none of this speculation and additions to ponder?
I do wonder how many extra tickets they're really selling by holding off on some of these, especially given how many other festivals are competing for those dollars. I doubt anyone has said "Wow, Matt Costa! I'm going to Bonnaroo."
Of course there could be stuff I don't know. Maybe some of the contracts aren't actually finalized yet. Maybe the delays DO sell a lot more tickets. But like you said, it would be nice to know what I'm paying for up front.
I think there are a number of mystical voodoo factors, mostly having to do with contracts, marketing issues (for Roo and for the management of the bands in question), timing, phases of the moon, holidays and allergies. Last year's announcement before the Easter weekend probably was seen as a bad move, so they've waited a week. It does pay in their minds to build suspense, but also to craft these announcements carefully.
I believe by this Friday we will have an addition announcement. Could be big.
I, too, think an announcement on the 20th is likely. Aside from April 20th's numerous and dubious records in history, its a valid guess for a number of reasons. Foremost, Super Fly has made every single announcement on a Thurs (except round 2, which I still swear was supposed to be in Round 1, as it came less than 24 hours later). Seems like Thursdays around 3 pm is the time news hits the webpage. Additionally, it has been, what, like 3 weeks since the last announcement? Seems like the average wait time between announcements. Also, I'm suspecting they still need to drive ticket sales. I'm very suprised that Bonnaroo isn't sold out, but it makes me think that there are still a lot of tix left. Announcements drive sales, espically if they have some super-sick amazing addition that we were hoping for.

i totally agree. pearl jam or ben harper would be big. noone else in the usa would have pearl jam. they also need to appease the jam band community wiht this addition, so i'm hoping for some keller williams or soemthing like that as well
Something that strikes me a little funny is at jambase on the widespread summer tour announcement page there is an ad for bonnaroo which only lists radiohead and tom petty. Now there is plenty of room to have put phil and friends on there since they are the 3rd headliner. It makes me wonder if Phil is gonna be moved to the slot right before the headliner (the same spot he had at the first roo on sunday) to make room for a big announcement that would close out bonnaroo. I didnt think there would be anymore big (as in headliner type) acts added but that add at jambase has me wondering. If ticket sales are a little slow do you think they would bump phil down a spot for say pearl jam or someone else? Or is conspiracy thearist getting the best of me?

Phil's site has said he's closing the festival ever since he's been added. Can't imagine they'd bump him down (esp. w/ Sco on guit, and the NUMEROUS guest possibilities).
I'm not a Panic fan, so I'm biased - but I've enjoyed Roo MUCH more when Panic hasn't been there (both b/c I'm not a big fan of their hubs-smoking, IV drug using fans, and I HATE being forced to listen to them when they play the main stage). But I'm NOT saying all their fans are like that, and I'm not saying that other bands don't have the same type of people as fans. Just stating my opinion.

it is strange that jambase wouldnt have the one jam headliner listed but im pretty sure that phils spot is set as the headlining closer. it is bonnaroos ad. its just jambases ad space. i think that roo has stopped trying to advertise the jam bands because they know that jam heads follow all of the info and know who is playing where and have already decided to come see oysterhead, umph/bisco and phil or they have decided to goto 10klf or waka to catch a reasonable amount of jam. so now they are just trying to get the rest of the more recognizable to the mainstream names out there to encourage them to come. and alot of those fans are turned off by jambands. not trying to fire up a mainstream argument but i think that it is their marketing plan to push those bands and not jambands

phil is definitely closing sunday... if pearl jam gets added they will play before petty on friday...
an announcement on 4/20 or 4/21 seems all but gauranteed... and I think Pearl Jam and a jamband will be what we can expect... as for jambands... i really doubt SCI will be playing roo this year unfortunately (and probably not Keller either)... so we can hope for Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers or maybe some up and comers like Brothers Past, The Breakfast, or the Duo
