yea, but a late night Fri gig will not give trey enough time to get up to STL. The more i consider it, the more it looks like daytime Oysterhead. Maybe on the side stage before the headliner?

i dont care if it is a latenight i just want it to be dark. it has to be a nighttime show. i think they are going to do some new things this year with the scheduling so im hoping maybe trey will jam with petty and then the mainstage can roll into the oysterhead show. thats probably just wishful thinking though.
i liked it better when oysterhead was on saturday because a double headline thing seemed more likely seeing as how radiohead is not known to play more then 2 hours so there would likely be room for 2 mainstage headliners. maybe we will get beck in that format now

There probably will be better shows that weekend but Oysterhead is rare.... They're definately a big part of why im drawn to Roo this year... We all know they're not the best band ever, but we also know they're Oysterhead and they're going to fucking play Bonnaroo... I still cant beleive it really....
You said it lucid. im not expecting all that much, but it'll be a solid show with energy through the roof! Im definitely let down that we wont see trey pop in for phil though.

yeah, i'd prefer oysterhead in the drak, but i'll take what i can get; cause how many itmes do you get to see oysterhead? my dream timeslot would have them play after petty, but whateever happens it'll surely be fun
"Trey will join Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers as they embark on their 2006 North American "Highway Companions Tour," beginning June 9 in Charlotte, NC. Trey will perform a special opening set for eight shows on the first leg of the tour and both artists will perform sets at The Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN. Other opening acts on the tour include Pearl Jam and The Allman Brothers Band. See the Tourdate Page for shows featuring Trey, or visit TomPetty.com for a full list of tourdates."
Now, perhaps I'm reading to much into this, but since this specifically mentions that Trey is opening for Tom for 8 shows, and that they are both playing Bonnaroo (which is a 9th show), maybe this is a hint that Oysterhead will be Late Night? It's just a guess, but if Trey really is opening for Tom on this whole tour AND with Oysterhead as well at Bonnaroo, then why single out only 8 shows as openers, when it's actually 9?

i hope so.. i have been 100 percent convinced that oysterhead will be a night time show since it was announced. i cannnot see anyway at all that they will be a daytime show. im not sure who will open for petty but it makes me hope for pearljam to be announced because then id know that they are opening for petty and oysterhead is at night
"i have been 100 percent convinced that oysterhead will be a night time show since it was announced. "
I have too, but I wouldn't consider skipping the Best Festival in the country, with the Best Lineup in the country, with the Best Late Nights in the country, b/c the sun is shining during one particular band's set. Don't be a moron.

well i would say it is moronic to have oysterhead play in the day time. for me oysterhead is the number one draw at roo. and if i know that their show will not be up to expectations because it is daytime then i will save my money for 10klf which has more of the bands i want to see. most of the other bands at roo i can catch at other festies or on their tour. and for some i can just turn on the radio.
and we have differing opinions about what is the best lineup in the country. i put roo second and maybe even 3rd. i am pretty sure that it will be a non issue as oysterhead will be a nighttime show.

start splitting.... i know its not up to par with the new crowd roo is going after but 10klf has the lineup i would normally expect out of roo. in my opinion all of the jammy goodness at 10klf is way better. and if it wasnt for oysterhead i think wakarusa has as good of a lineup. i do love the hip hop at roo and ya dont get that at 10klf but for my tastes i think it is a better lineup
Post by keithk1055 on Apr 22, 2006 17:53:36 GMT -5
dude i also said that i liked the new stuff it just didnt do it for me like the old stuff. there is quite alot of music at 10klf besides trey. why are you so concerned about me and my taste? several hundered of those posts have been in response to people like you that see fit to question everything i say and call me a moron. grow up dude

well most of my karma comes from 3 people like you that are doing it over and over. give me a day and ill have your karma to negative 4o. i dont play the silly karma game though so your in luck. i didnt know that this thread was yours man. you should have your bouncers do a better job and not let the rift raft in. once again man grow up. its a thread about when oysterhead would play and i stated my opinion on the subject. you then found it neccesary to pick a fight with me.
JUST GROW THE FUCK UP MAN!
quit calling people retards and worrying about them.... just worry about yourself man

all i said was that i wouldnt go to roo if oysterhead is in the daytime and that they are the main draw for me. i cant imagine what your issue is with that but i certainly think you might need some medication dude.... i will post where ever i feel like and i will try to keep it on subject. maybe you should try that....

Was it ever actually reported anywhere that Oysterhead would play a night-time set? Or was that idea just a guess or wishful thinking from the beginning?
Post by keithk1055 on Apr 22, 2006 18:53:40 GMT -5
i dont remember reading anything about it. i have just assumed that it will be at night due to the nature of the show. i m not really sure why they wont give us a schedule. 10klf has its schedule posted and its further out then roo is.
Post by suspendedzen on Apr 22, 2006 19:02:58 GMT -5
At least its not like Summerfest (Milwaukee) which starts the week after Bonnaroo...and is at least a hundred bands short of a lineup so far, let alone having a schedule grid.
Post by keithk1055 on Apr 22, 2006 19:10:25 GMT -5
right... i might be wrong but at summerfest dont you buy tickets to each show and not one festival pass? i would like to know roos schedule so i can see which bands conflict and where beck and oysterheads timeslots are so i could decide if i definetly wanna spend the money. (which i already have) if oysterhead and umph/bisco conflict then that means i only get one of my top two shows. granted i would probably still get to see half of umph/bisco from the back of a huge crowd after oysterhead ended but thats not really what im hoping for and i dont know if it would be worth the cash and the cross country drive in a situation like that or if ooysterhead is a daytime show

lmao, ok. who would be #1 then? (and don't say 10K Lakes or I'm gonna split a side)
In my opinion: #1 10k Lakes #2 Wakarusa #3 Bonnaroo
I've got my heart set on nightime Oysterhead myself and i have a gut feeling they will make it happen that way somehow... Bottom line is that i'll take em any way i can... This show is going to kick some @ss...
You should know by now that there isnt much point in responding to what keith says unless you agree with him...

Summerfest tickets are bought either per-headliner (some free tix available), per day, or by blocks of days. For people making longterm plans they might want to know what acts are on what days. Its starting to shape up now, and it always ends up looking pretty good, but as of now its lacking bands (let alone a set time schedule).
If your Bonnaroo experience really hinges on what time of day Oysterhead plays...going to one of the 'better' festivales is probably for the best.
