sigh...my time as a long-term lurker is over. finally moved to join by this thread!
scooter i like a lot of your picks. i strongly second:
pearl jam pink floyd beck (but he would probably be a headliner, wouldn't he?) arcade fire (damn i really really have to see them) bss primus (well, basically any manifestation of les should be required at bonnaroo) wilco shins trail of dead
and i will add: antibalas mos def afroskull pilotdrift akron/family willie nelson outkast (what a headliner that would be) new pornographers polyphonic spree tv on the radio more rap, but i don't really know who puts on a good show (mf doom, streets, common?)
love for the ladies: cat power, shelby lynne, loretta lynn
artist in residence: buckethead
most importantly: THE FLAMING LIPS!!
very unlikely, but my wet dream: radiohead, white stripes, yeah yeah yeahs
of course the usual suspects: galactic, mmj, umphrey's, robert randolph, the dead, sts9, particle
sorry if this seems long....i just love imagining that i'm planning my own little festival.
Ben Harper Wilco David Byrne Yo la tango any or all of the usual suspects
New to roo: Beck P-Funk Lyrics Born Aesop Rock
more world music more jazz
and I would like to seem them mix it up a bit with the headliners although I don't have any specific suggestions (Radiohead would be a dream come true)
Just figured I'd chime in, keep in mind I'm not really a "jam band" fan; David Bowie (don't think he's touring right now, but still, love to see him) Black Crowes (never been disapointed w/ them live) Allmans My Morning Jacket Robinella and the CC Strng Band (it's a Knoxville thing) Frankie Goes to Hollywood (yes they are touring, yes I'm old) Gypsy Hands belly dancers (if you missed them this year you really missed something special) De La Soul (what a late night show should be) RJD2 (again another great late night show) Moby Jimmy Buffett Any band w/ GnR members I'd pay another $172 (or whatever) to see that lineup.
I agree with a whole lot of the bands already listed, but I'll list them again with a few others
Pearl Jam (I just get this feeling they're gonna headline this year) Beck Muse Snow Patrol New Pornographers or.... AC Newman Arcade Fire My Morning Jacket Interpol Sonic Youth TV on the Radio Ryan Adams David Bowie Neil Young Tom Petty Stevie Wonder White Stripes The Coral The Shins The Strokes The Doves The Eels Sufjan Stevens Portishead Spin Doctors Sp00n Rogue Wave Steven Malkmus or better yet... PAVEMENT!!! Blues Traveler Moe. MMW Wilco Yo La Tengo Primus The Flaming Lips Bright Eyes Common Talib Kwali Mos Def KRS-One Danger Mouse David Cross (comedy tent)
And my wet dreams are as follows.... Radiohead Pink Floyd I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell for those 2
All I know is that we need better headliners next year. WSP and DMB just don't do it for me. Not that there's anything wrong with those bands. I just want something new.

i agree......i like wsp but ive seen em too much to get all hyped about it......oddly enough, i never had that problem with phish......the more the merrier.....now dave i really love when he is by himself or with "friends"......i just dont get the same rise out of the "dave matthews band".....i dont know why, there is a different vibe or something.....but put dave with tim reynolds and im in heaven......
mars volta radiohead flaming lips beck bela fleck and flecktones alredy announced!!! stone temple pilots reunion PRIMUS PRAXIS(buckethead bill laswell and brain) STS9 project object MR. BUNGLE JACOB FRED JAZZ ODYSSEY MEDESKI MARTIN & WOOD

I'm thinking Cream at the roo would be absolutely insane, and now that the legal issues are over and they have played in the US again anything is possible. If this is year 5 on the lease in Manchester then why not go out with the greatest jam band of all time. Besides Cream I'd like to see:
Keep in mind this is a wish list we know bands like panic and string cheese will most certainly be there:
The Roots Tom Petty Karl Denson's Tiny Universe (if you don't know who they are I reccomend seeing them live you can thank me later) Black Crowes Tower of Power Drive by Truckers Mars Volta Perpetual Groove P-Funk MosDef moe The Beat Junkies (DJ Rhettmatic, Cut Chemist, DJ Numark etc)
pearl jam p-groove umphrees mcgee The dead disco bisciuts string cheese incident widespread panic sound tribe sector 9 mars volta raq pelican spoon arcade fire moe tom petty dave mathews (why not...) allman brothers Trey Vida Blue ween black crows
The Dead YMSB G. Love (for my wife's sake) Beastie Boys The Pogues moe. Jurassic 5 (I hadn't intended to see them last year but I walked past their set on my way to the Allman Bros. and was impressed.)
The Arcade Fire Radiohead Modest Mouse Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals The Black Crowes Citizen Cope Sunny Day Real Estate (If they would get back together) Beck Flaming Lips Franz Ferdinand Gomez Wilco Hot Hot Heat Jurassic 5 The Killers Kings Of Leon The Mars VOlta Les Claypool My Morning Jacket Wolf Parade Weezer The Strokes Umphreys McGee Tenacious D Robert Randolph Oasis
Revolution is not something fixed in ideology, nor is it something fashioned to a particular decade. It is a perpetual process embedded in the human spirit. -Abbie Hoffman
Give me Radiohead. That's the only way i'll be going this year! But if I were going...
RADIOHEAD-yes, it's all our wet dream My Morning Jacket Praxis The Word (was backstage for that last year... just amazing!) Jack Johnson Jurrasic 5 Ozomatli (damn fine show, even in the rain) Dave Matthews and Friends (last year's DMB show sucked)
and my wildest dream a Phish reunion. but we all know that isn't happening.
Personally I'm not a big Radiohead fan so my wishlist is different than most people's. This is just the short list too.
Mars Volta Perpetual Groove Karl Denson's Tiny Universe Rilo Kiley Beck Primus but Les Claypool would be fine too Nickel Creek (At least I know that one is coming true) Carbon Leaf Mouse on Mars J5 STS9 Death Cab for Cutie (yes, it's a little mainstream but I love them) Coheed and Cambria The Music Hot Buttered Rum String Band Donna the Buffalo The Flaming Lips Galactic Lucero Flogging Molly (it's the Irish in me)

I'm satisfied with everything I have been hearing as far as rumors about who is going to be at Bonnaroo goes. However, does anyone know the basis for the rumors at Wikipedia and such? They seem to have no basis.
"As of December 19, 2005, Béla Fleck and The Flecktones and Nickel Creek (both scheduled to perform June 16) are the only bands confirmed for the 2006 festival. The rumored lineup includes Ween, Radiohead,The Dead, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Beck, Particle, Dinosaur Jr, My Morning Jacket, Queens of the Stone Age, The Arcade Fire, moe., String Cheese Incident, Blue Merle, and the North Mississippi Allstars.
New rumored artists for Bonnaroo 2006 include Bright Eyes, Oysterhead, Matisyahu, Common, Disco Biscuits (late night), Umphrey's McGee, Josh Hill Band, Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, Ben Harper, Gomez, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Willie Nelson, Neko Case, Devendra Banhart, and Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins." ~Wikipedia article on Bonnaroo 2006
I would love to see Tom Petty, Radiohead, Ween, The Dead, Beck, Moe., Ben Harper, Wilco, and Willie Nelson out of those. ;D
