I think Mike Doughty will grab a lot of people's attention that may not be familiar with him. He was in Soul Coughing but for the past 3 years has been doing solo stuff; just him and a guitar. However, this summer is the first time it will be his solo stuff with a band (hence "Mike Doughty's Band) It is so hard to be a singer/songwriter yet stand out among the other singer/songwriters...but I think Mike Doughty has pulled it off.
And while most people know that Umphrey's McGee can play a hell of a show, the Friday midnight set they have is exactly what they need to bring them up to that next level...you know that difference between playing clubs and playing theaters. It isn't a huge jump in number of attendance, but it is a very difficult glass ceiling for a band to break. I think the recording of this late night set will be one that people will be hunting for and passing on to friends...much live moe.'s midnight set at Bonnaroo 2002...it was a beast!

Ween late night will most likely be horribly underrated due to Primus...im planning on wandering back and forth between them, but i think ween will be a sleeper
I think the black keys will put on a great show. They're a 2-man band with a really full sound somehow. Kinda bluesy. But they're playing the same time as ymsb.... And I have to agree that umphrey's will be a good one too. OK I've got three, i'm looking forward to the hackensaw boys too... they played thurs night last year, and my hubby and his friend haven't stopped talking about them since.

I think it'll be Umphrey's. The late night slot is great for them, they really know how to tear it up. Rough putting them up against Vida Blue, though.
I think Winwood was the sleeper. I knew he had some great songs(Low Spark, Mr. Fantasy, etc.), but wasn't expecting such an awesome show. The only reason we even got to see him was because his set was delayed and we were there waiting to see The Dead. Thank goodness we got to see him. He also said that Traffic was going to be touring this fall!
