I re-upped my amazon prime membership last night....... So far I have glow bracelets, 3 el wires, and a chillow pillow in my cart - and it keeps bringing up recommended items that I waaaant. Oy vey.

Oh, Mayo. You don't stand a chance. I started off with Amazon prime because a .edu email gets you a free membership for a year, and I didn't even hesitate to re-up it when it came time. Worst/best decision I ever made. And the recommendations are similarly a best/worst decision. But sometimes it hurts so good to be bad, y'know? And then your impulse 2 a.m. purchase of a handcarved wood spoon, used copy of a beloved book from childhood, and misc. camping supplies get there two days later, and for free! Not that I would know, or anything...
(Also, hey, thanks! Only because I spent months last year reading the GFT wisdom in secret and had one of the smoothest first 'Roos ever, I think. )
^^^ girl, I KNOW. I had Prime for a couple years, but let it lapse bc my cc number changed. So when I got the Kindle, and I couldnt share any books bc I had no prime, I was PISSED. So...... last night I talked it out with a friend, and decided I needed to do it if I want my RooTu EL Wire to get here in time. Priorities, right?

^^^ Those are better priorities than mine. I claimed I needed it so I could order used textbooks and have them get here in time. Really I use it for cooking supplies, used books, and last-minute gift purchasing. Also to buy the most misc. stuff ever. And shoes. (It seems shoes always come into it somehow for me.)

This is not Roo specific, but I have a festival this weekend and the weather will be no bueno. Low 60s with chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday. I own work clothes and sun dresses. Nothing in between. I don't even own a long sleeve shirt outside of sweatshirts either. I have a feeling my outfits will be a dress/leggings/sweatshirt all weekend. Not very fun. :/

I'm not sure if it'll work, but give it a shot when your prime membership is about to expire! I believe it is at amazon.com/student. They might need you to supply major and year information though, since it is supposed to be a student service.
Also, that is v. unfortunate about the weather! I'm sure you'll make do and look great when all is said and done.

BONZ - i was JUST in Target yesterday, and they had lovely colored cotton zip up hoodies in the dudes section (solid colors, and good ones!!), and in the ladies section (some prints on them) - ON SALE. You can score a sweet hoodie for like $12. Go get one Or you could be miz all weekend

Amazon prime is the debil! I ordered SO much stuff because of it. Bonzai, this was just a few years ago, WAY after I graduated college, and I still managed to get a free prime membership with my .edu address. (I guess they don't realize your college e-mail never expires?)

Haha, I had an Amazon 1-click experience a couple nights ago - logged on to look up an album I wanted to download, got sidetracked in the discount MP3 section. $30 and five albums later I still hadn't gotten the one I originally was looking for!!

My apartment is a mess with festival stuff.. but nothing is organized. I brought Roo boxes from the attic to our spare room where they haven't really been looked through. My bag from Hangout is emptied on our dining room table, and I have piles of dresses in my bedroom. Somehow tonight I need to pack and pack my car for Mountain Jam, and then I have ONE evening to turn it all over- wash- repack...- for Bonnaroo.

bonz, do you have any bigger scarves you could use over your shoulders if you get cold? i have a lot of summery scarves i throw over my shoulders at the beach when i get chilly, works well if you aren't freezing

I actually always keep one in my camelbak for burnt/ cold shoulders and other uses. But if it's going to be 60 during the day, it'll be WAY too cold for a light scarf at night! I think it might be a little chilly even with a sweatshirt!

A+. Got it in the store for $25 (on sale for $30 in store, plus some rando birthday discount), test drove it last week when it was like, 90 here. Wore a pair of under armor bike shorts underneath to prevent starting any fires on my thighs or unfortunate/awkward mishaps on the bus. It is super lightweight and gives you a nice shape without being clingy at all. The material is very thin, but the dress is lined (also a thin material), which was great.
I feel a little like an awkward old lady going into AE because I think I'm out of their target age range by about a decade, but hey, I'll shop anywhere for a good summer dress. And hey, it looked pretty good on me, even with giant tree trunk thighs. It looks like they have a few in similar patterns/cuts with the same material right now.

My fave for extra cold nights is a hoodie+a poncho. Also, don't underestimate the warmth of a hat.

I need helping picking a wig for playing dress up at Roo. These are my two choices, please keep in mind I am not as pretty as either model and much older
Dreamingtree, I like number 2. The first one kind of creeps me out for some reason?? And if you don't want to buy one, I have a long purple wig that you can borrow.
I got my J Crew swimsuit today, and I LOVE it. I'm baffled as to why more swimsuit tops don't have underwire. And the bottoms are "retro"-ish and high waisted! I would highly recommend a swimsuit from there if you're looking for something nicer and supportive.

I love the wig idea, Dreamingtree, and I am so that that you love your bathing suit, JHo! As part of my birthday present, my mom said I can order a nice suit on Vicky's and charge it to her. I am so excited to have a suit that, as you mentioned, has an underwire and support! Yipppeeee! won't have it for Roo, though.

Which suit did you get? I just bought a couple from there recently. I also got a set that has the high-waisted bottoms, and I was concerned that it'd look like a giant gingham diaper when I put it on, but turned out much better than expected. Although both the top and bottom for the gingham two-piece I got ran quite a bit large.
And now they just added a whole bunch more swim stuff to the sale section :/ BUY ALL THE THINGS.
