I can't seem to find any here either, and we don't have a dicks or a CVS! You shoulda seen the old man's face at walmart when I was trying to explain what I was looking for "You know, it's stuff you can put on the inside of your thighs to help keep them from rubbing against each other and chafing" it was priceless!
if you are desparate you might want to try the diaper section of walmart of something. they have ointment for diaper rash that prevents chaffing. ifyou read on it , it says its for scraps etc and prevents chaffing. they also have the monostat stuff at walmart and it works well
Anyone know of the best tinted moisturizer with SPF? I usually don't wear foundation.... I don't like to cover my freckles, but my skin could use the benefits of moisture and sun protection.

I got a Neutrogena water resistant sunscreen for my face. I don't like to cover my freckles either, and I feel that trying to wear any kind of foundation in tha heat+humidity is asking for it to melt and run all over the place in strange little streaks of color. I'm doing my eyes in all waterproof, and that's really it other than the sunscreen.
You know how someone mentioned Danskin sports bras for $10 at Wal-Mart? I recommend the bike shorts for underneath skirts. I wear them all the time; they wick sweat away, keep my legs from chafing together, and are very tight fitting so they can go easily under shorts. Then you can sit on the ground all you want without flashing anyone (as someone else mentioned previously, as well).
I CANNOT WAIT to see what kind of handmade jewelery some of the vendors have. Do you guys know if any vendors take cards, or should we really be expecting to rock some cash if I want to buy Pretty Handmade Stuff?
the venders in centerooo usually take credit cards but the shakedown folks may not. yu can get the same stuff for cheaper at shakedown so be sure and look around before you purchase
Wellll.... Hillary, I am trying to decide if I am taking any of my crafts with me or not. I make jewelry. I make bracelets and earrings out of recycled records and just plain beaded jewlery. I am debating weather or not I should take any to the festival. I know that I don't want to have to set anything up and man the booth all day because I am here for the music, but if you or anyone else here wants something custom made for you let me know. I can post some photos of the stuff I make if I ever figure out how. I very rarely charge much over cost of materials because I do it purely for the artsy side.
Other than that, my fiance says that he usually just grabs the cards from the vendors unless there is somehting really unique that they are selling. That way you can get something when you get home and not be so strapped for cash.

Seems like the conversation has moved on a bit from the issue of shaving, but I'll still throw my two cents in.
I've got dark brown hair and I won't lie, I am a very hairy chica. I will be a bit stubbly by the time I GET to Roo since I'll have to shave Tuesday morning, probably. If I didn't shave at all at Bonnaroo I would definitely end up stubbly...honestly it doesn't bother me too much so I don't worry about it a whole lot, but I usually bring a razor and at some point I'll just give a quick swipe over my lower legs, armpits, maybe bikini-line areas....I just do it dry, and in about thirty seconds, so I'll totally be a bit stubbly but at least it's not as bad as it could be.
Nobody is gonna care (or even notice, most likely) if you're a bit stubbly. You'll see plenty of girls rocking a lot of stubble. So I say, do what you need to do to make yourself happy...if you're going to end up self-conscious about being stubbly (like me!) then go ahead and try a quick shave so you can relax and not be thinking about it.

I guess I really just don't care about shaving. I don't think it's that noticeable and really do you think anyone cares? It's not worth dealing with imo......
If we're gonna still talk about shaving, have you guys tried the "As seen on tv" Smooth Away pads? (https://www.getsmoothaway.com/ver56/index.asp) I wonder if that'd be easier than shaving with no need for water. Also thought of the hair removal lotions, like Nair or Veet, but I don't and won't have the patience for that.

well, on the shaving issue, I'm blonde and you can't really see mine but I absolutely can't stand the way stubble feels on my legs but baby wipes and a Venus Breeze razor works fine if shaving dry burns for you because it does for me!
win. there are two shakedowns. one is the unofficial vender area outside of centerroo. it serves as a decoy for the "real" shakedown which is an even more unofficial vender area where you can get anything you want. its magical and elusive and often thought to be a legend. whether it really exists is for you to discover. if youwant to try to find it you should ask the most magical looking fairies at roo - they may tell you where they found their pixie dust

If you have a Sephora or Macy's near you, Benefit makes one that I love. It's called You Rebel and comes in two different shades with SPF 15. It gives light blemish coverage too which I love. You only need a little bit..one tube lasts me about 4-6 months.
If you want to go to CVS or something like it, I think Neutrogena and Physicians Formula makes pretty decent ones as well.

Cover Girl has a pretty decent tinted moisturizer with SPF - GC Smoothers I believe.
I won't be taking any, and I am a chica who lives in foundation and concealer. I will wear waterproof mascara, am taking my Nars the Multiple for color until I get some from the sun, and a tinted lip balm or gloss - something like Burt's Bees. You sweat SO MUCH that tinted moisturizer won't last terribly long. You may want to try a sport tinted moisturizer or a powder like Bare Escentuals - it may last a bit longer in the heat, sweat, etc.

I also use YouRebel, and man do I love it, but I'm worried that it will melt, separate, or just run too much out of the tube in the heat of TN. I was contemplating switching to the Neutrogena for this trip because it doesn't cover as well but at $6 I'm a lot less concerned with if the tube goes bad from heat. Have you taken the YouRebel camping before? Am I crazy for thinking about it this way?
Also, if there are any cyclists out there you can use chamois butt'r as opposed to body glide. Similar properties to body glide, but it's more of a cream and it is even sold in little pouches if you wanted to cary individual things with you for during the day.
For all Ladies w/ larger bra sizes who don't want to wear the uncomfortable underwire bras.... I've found a GREAT sports bra @ Wal-Mart. It's a danskin, has built in cups, great support, & is super comfy!! Straps do not cut into your shoulders. Hopefully the Pic i've attatched comes through, but if not... here's the info:
Danskin Now High impat Sports Bra Racerback Colors- Blk, Wht, or Grey No- Bounce Support Rapid Dry moisture management CoolMax lining Comes in normal bra sizes( NOT Sm, Med, Lg, XL) $10.00
They're a lot more than $10, but if you need a sports bra even larger than those from walmart I HIGHLY recommend Moving Comfort sports bras. You can buy them at LL Bean or REI, and I would assume most sporting good stores. Hands down the best sports bra my DDDs have ever encountered. Mine are already packed for roo.
if you can't find bodyglide, see if they have this at your walmart or pharmacy
it's what i use and it's faaaantastic
Awesome! Thank you.... I always like to get girly stuff then find a boy to check me out. It's funny to watch some of them just cringe at having to touch it
I'm bringing shaving cream and a razor. Makes me feel better to at least get my underarms. Probably won't bother with my legs, but I won't rule it out.
I can't handle anything on my face except for sunscreen - I sweat so much and am constantly wiping my face. Though like my sister, I will be wearing waterproof mascara. Frankly, it's all about what makes you more comfortable and more able to enjoy the music.
Well, ladies, I packed my bag this weekend! Yes, it is a bit early since I'm not leaving until Thursday morn, but I am overexcited, and I wanted to make sure I didn't wear any of my Roo clothes this week (trying not to do more laundry).
Here's what I ended up packing: 4 Dresses (two short, one long, one mid-length) 1 pair of jeans 1 pair of yoga pants 1 pair of shorts* 1 mid-length flow-y skirt 4 tank tops Sleeping pants Sleeping top 2 long-sleeved shirts 1 sweatshirt 2 t-shirts 3 two-piece bathing suits 2 bras (one sports bra) 9 pairs of undies 5 pairs of socks 5 bandanas 2 hats Crocs Flip flops sneakers rain boots
*I plan on wearing another pair of shorts and a tank for the drive/set-up on Thursday.
In 2008, my first year, I felt like I overpacked.... last year, I underpacked and wore every single thing I brought. This year I decided to overpack again; better safe than sorry!
The weather forecast keeps changing so I might end up throwing in a few more long-sleeved shirts. This morning, it was 62 when I left for work, and I was honestly a bit chilly so if the temps are around there at night at Roo, I might get cold. (I was born and raised in the south, so anything under 70 degrees is chilly to me)
So last time I went to Bonnaroo on Thursday I just wore what I drove down in - a tee shirt and shorts. This year we hope to be there earlier so I was thinking I may need a change of clothes. I have three dresses now, but thought I should secure a fourth.
Yesterday I went to Ross and the power went out due to a thunderstorm. Didn't stop me, I went to Target to get some Roo provisions, and then headed back to Ross. I got another dress - not a dream dress but comfy and pretty colors and only $12.99!
So I have: 4 maxi dresses 1 hoodie 1 pair loose comfy jeans 1 pair loose comfy linen/cotton pants 1 pair crocs flops for camp My boots (sorta like Frye Harness boots - new insoles) 4 pair knee socks for the boots 1 skirt 2 tanks poncho packable rain jacket/windbreaker straw hat cowboy hat camelbak 2 pair bike shorts 8 pair undies 1 pair shorts 1 long-sleeved tee
On the trip down I will probably wear a tee and flowy skirt or some sort of sundress and have a cardigan or something to ward of A/C chill.
Forgot sleep clothes! Probably capri yoga pants so if I get up in the middle of the night I won't chance full length yoga pants dragging in mud or porta potty ick. That with a bra tank (I wear nursing tanks because I have them leftover and they are more supportive for big boobies).
that monistat stuff is GREAT to use as a base under makeup when you are not at roo. ive said that before butnot sure youwere here when i said it. you just put it on after moisturizer and it works GREAT. much cheaper than expensive primers.

Happy packing, everyone!
YES! the first packing list posts! I knew they'd happen soon And - agreed Julie - anything under 70 is def chilly! I also threw some stuff in a bag last night, but not sure im really done:
3 smock top short sundresses 1 cotton x-back short sundress 2 karizas (one long, one mid-length) 2 tanks to go with karizas (as i have no clue how to wear them other than as skirts) 2 pair leggings 4 bikini tops 2 bikini bottoms 10 pairs undies 2 no-wire triangle bras jammie pants and sleep tank hoodie sweatshirt jeans fit-flops 4 pair socks cupcake rubber boots sneakers cowboy hat visor toiletries: TP, gold bond, cottonelle wipes, and body glide out from under the sink, and on the counter
I know i need more. but that's what i could get my hands on last night. really just trying to get stuff OUT of closets and cabinets. the area under my kitchen bar the "staging" area. WOOT!

I brought it to a festival last summer and it did melt a little bit. I'm thinking about maybe putting it in a plastic bag and keeping it in the cooler (that way it will feel nice and cool when it goes on too!). I hope it works.. I've been to CVS so much in the past couple of weeks the employees are probably getting sick of me hahaha!
