soo u know those headbands that arent really headbands but pieces of elastic around ur head but are super cute..does anyone else have a huge head and wears them.. i found some i love online but am afraid they wont fit!
i wear these all the time. the "stay-put" ones are the BEST.
you can get them at target. actually, target has a nice selection. i would try that first before getting some from online...you know, just so you can check out what they look like in person.

I also was a flip flop girl the past 2 roos, and Im sure I'll bring them this year too - but I did also get a pair of Sanuks. They're way comfy, but Im hoping that I dont get the "stank foot" since they're close-toed. we shall see.
If you're at all worried about it, get some Odor Eater's spray to keep at your campsite. I like to use it (yeah, I admit I use it!) before I put my shoes on for the first time for the day...since it helps keep your feet dry, they feel cooler. My feet seem to regulate my whole dang body temp, so that's a plus. I will say that my feet have been described as "built," so the uppers on my Sanuks are not as loose as I think they probably are on most people. That may make a difference, too.
I need a pair of sandals that strap to my feet, but don't like the standard Teva design. These are super cute and would stay put. In your opinion, are they worth $70?
Lovely dresses, Katy Mae! I must get on to sewing clothes today. I tie-dyed the tablecloth we'll be using for groundcover @ Roo last night and I started work on our flag but I really need to do the clothes....ok, enough procrastinating. Off to run my errands in town and then sewing and painting.
Oh, and for those of you considering wearing flip-flops the whole time @ Roo, lemme tell you a short story. Last year at the Summer Camp festie in Illinois, I wore flippy-flops. I somehow hurt my right foot walking in the shoes during the first night (first aid tent said it was probably a stone bruise) and had to wear an ACE bandage around my foot while continuing to wear the flip-flops for the rest of the festie.
Yesterday, I walked 5 miles at the Greenway while waiting for my car to be fixed and yes, I did it in flip-flops. I hurt my foot in the exact same way in the exact same spot (outside of the foot near the heel) but on the left foot this time. I have to wear my MJ crocs and New Balance hikers now until my foot stops hurting.
Moral of the story: Bring at least one other pair of shoes besides flip-flops. Sandals are one thing, but thong flip-flops are not the most protective thing you can wear and you will be walking a lot.

Those are cuuuuute and I'm so ordering a pair right now. I think Tevas are generally pretty comfy so hopefully these will be too. Thanks for the heads up!
Also, they're slightly cheaper - $58 - on backcountry.com.

Leaning towards the black, but really like walnut the best. Called around and a local place has these in stock, so I'm trying them on first. Will report back!

I ordered my first pair of birkenstocks the other day, along with a dress, sunglasses, purse, necklace, digital camera and ipod.... someone please remove the credit card from my hands. (total of less than $300 though bc I'm an awesome shopper lol)
Yesssssssssssss Katy Mae I'm seriously so jealous of your dresses and never heard of aj wright but i did a store search and found 2 near me... SOOO EXCITED!!! Thank youuuu
^Just a heads up on the birkenstocks. I love mine (all 3 pairs!!), but I won't bring them to roo. When they get wet, they get really, really stiff and hardened. If you get caught out in the rain briefly, it isn't a big deal, but if you were stuck at a show in the rain wearing them, they would be pretty much useless the rest of the weekend, and possibly forever if they get really muddy. In general though, they are super comfy...they mold to your feet, so your feet, legs, and back all feel better when you wear 'em
you're welcome!!! And, my best friend has those birks in brown...she's been wearing them for years and they still look great. One of the best things about them is they stay solid for a long time, even with lots of wear. You can even get them recorked and stuff, but I'm always ready for a new pair in a new style when they wear out...although my birk clogs I've been wearing since high school (I'm 24 now) and they are still in excellent shape. I don't wear them nearly as much as the sandals though, and even they are like 4 years old and still going strong!
1. I still have every pair of Birkenstocks I've ever purchased...they are that durable. But I agree with LelieBomb. Once they get wet, they're never the same. But I still wear them! The older they get, the more formed to your feet...ah, they feel good (especially since I wear heels everyday to work).
2. I bought the Teva Kayenta (in walnut) last night at a local store. They are SO cute and SO comfortable.
I have two pairs of Birk clogs with custom-made insoles. I LOVE them! They are the most comfortable shoes ever... at first, I thought it was because of the custom-molded insoles, but now I think it's just the shoes in general. I work for a shoe company, so I get a lot of looks when I wear them (guess they aren't what the snobs would consider "fashionable") but I really could care less.
Aw, we don't have AJ Wright stores in TN But that's ok, I really shouldn't be spending money on Roo clothes anyway!

I do love my Birk sandals, I have had them 10 years..... I have the ones with the back strap, but I wore them to Roo the first year I went and had awful blisters. Since then I have been wearing Crocs and Keens to Roo and had no issues.

tHanks for the tip! I have nooooo problem using odor eaters No shame here! I will be bringing the new sanuks, my old 1st roo flops, the fit-flops that i wore last year, and my cupcake rainboots. I never really wear socks (i hate having my feet confined) so for roo, i have never brought sneakers. I just bring good quality knee socks to wear with my rain boots if im not gonna rock flops.

Mine arrived today. They're really cute, but I'm worried about the straps since they're so thin...I feel like they could cut my feet if I'm tromping around in them all day. I'm going to wear them around here for a while before I decide if I'm bringing them to Roo.
The moccasins I ordered, however, are craaaaaazy comfy! Though I think they need orthotics or something though for a little more support.
I think that next week, im gonna pull out allllllll the clothing items I've "purchased for Roo" just to see what I've got... It's only 4 days, and off the top of my head, I know I have 2 karizas, 3 jersey knit sundresses, 3 smocked top dresses, 1 VS Pink sundress (slash nightie, but whatever ).... that's 9 dresses. all bought in the name of Bonnaroo! and of course, have I bought my underoo shorts? no... so i have all these pretty dresses and no chafe-proofing yet.... I need to focus on essentials and not just looking cute!
