A couple question regarding beer and alcohol?

1) Sure I like beer, but what if I want to drink wine or rum. How do you recommend bringing it in without bringing it in glass? Will plastic containers work for both wine and rum?

2) I think I know the answer, but when they sell beer in Centeroo do you have to drink it in the beer tent, or can you carry it around? (there's nothing better then watching music with a beer in hand).

1. I believe as long as its not in glass, its fine. 2. If i remember correctly you are free to wonder with your beverages.

you can carry your beer with you anywhere with you except for through the gates into centeroo. once your thru the gate, break out your snuck in beer and crack em open.

and plastic makes alcohol taste funny. just sneak in a glass bottle or two in your luggage, and don't break it while you are there. i brought beer in bottles last year and had no problems with them underneath the cans, ice, and food.

there are recycle bins for glass too, so once you get it in, they want you to put it in the right place

1. You could transport the liquid to an empty two liter. Or just put those bottles at the bottom of your cooler. That is what I've done with my Sierra Nevada beer every year.

2. There is not anyplace in Bonnaroo you can't drink a beer as far as I know. Maybe not on the ferris wheel, but that's all I could think of.

Yeah, you're free to walk around with your frosty beverages.
As far as putting anything into plastic containers goes, the only thing you have to worry about is being pulled-over with what qualifies as an "open container" in your car.
Skip the wine, It tastes like sh*t after being stored in plastic.

I was just thinking that^. I think the rum would be fine in plastic, but if your bringing wine, keep it in glass.

Thanks, I thought there was something about not putting hard liqour in plastic, because the alcohol eats the plastic or something. I likely won't sneak it in because I'd hate to spend $50 on a couple bottles and have them take it away - that would be a bummer.

So no beer while watching the show eh - sucks, but I guess I can see why (minors and crazy drunks) .

Also, thanks to the others on the tips for wine - nothing worse than drinking funky wine.

I'm confused. If we buy beer in Centeroo can we drink it anywhere, or is there a beer tent where you have to drink it?

You can drinkas much as you want during any show, as long as you buy it in Centeroo. They just don't allow you to carry any in with you.

I could be wrong, but I think you had mentioned in another thread that you may be going VIP. If that is the case, bring whatever you want. We went VIP last year, and NEVER got searched even once. You could easily bring glass.
Maybe not one of the 3ft tall Grey Goose bottles, but a couple of the small bottles of CAptain would be no problem.

all alcohol dehydrates you quicker so make sure to drink one or two glasses of water for every one glass of beer you drink..don't want to be dry heaving all night!

I bring my JD in flasks, plastic and metal, you should be able to get it through the search if it is at the bottom of you cooler.

honestly, i've never had a problem getting any bottles in (to fest. grounds not centeroo), whether it be beer or liquor. jus hide it well, and dont be stupid with it, i did get yelled at last year for carryin' a 22 of fat tire around a couple times, but whatever.

Ummm.... maybe it's just me, but every liquor store i've ever been in (and all gas stations in wisconsin) has sold hard liquor in plastic bottles of various sizes... The cheap big bottles, the cheap little bottles... yeah, mostly the cheap liquor. It's fine. I don't know about transfering it into regular plastic containers, they might do something special to the plastic or have a special grade or something made for holding alcohol... but i know they have lots of liquor sold in plastic bottles, especially rum

I know, I'm so dumb....I thought of that this morning...I'm like wait, I remember the plastic bottles (usually in micky's or 66er's)...I usually buy 26ers or 40's and they are usually glass, which is why it didn't cross my mind yesterday.

i bought a gallon of popov in a plastic container back in high school. big party at a friends house. i decided to hide it in the oven so it wouldnt get stolen or pinched. after a while of partying i noticed my friend with a pan of pizza rolls. he had preheated the oven for em and that plastic bottle was in there. one of our moron friends grabbed it out but it was a close call. i think it would have been really bad if it had melted in the oven. id think explosive. of course he put it in the sink to cool and it was stolen with in 5 minutes. but the morale of the story is... dont put plastic gallons of vodka in the oven no matter how good of an idea it seems

i havnt hear many people getting hassled for much of anything let alone booze. The cops and such are confined to a select area anyway,right? i heard last year people had make shift bars and stuff in their tent,i heard they had a decent selection. From what i understand all the rules are stated but many people(authorities and such) turn a blind eye to illeagal/rule breaking activities. I think be cool play it smart and you should be fine.

Its not the drinking it in the camps, but getting it through the gates to get into bonnaroo. Its pretty easy to get in regardless.
