"I guess of all my uncles, I liked Uncle Cave Man the best. We called him Uncle Cave Man because he lived in a cave and because sometimes he'd eat one of us. Later on we found out he was a bear."

hmmm, over a month after no additions....i'm kinda disapointed...i figured we'd get at least 5-7 bands and more impressive names (ie. Beck, the shins, flaming lips, etc). I am glad they are added another flavor to things though, i'm not a huge hip-hop fan but glad to see some added. Other than that, i'd never heard of the word b4 and i'm listening to them now....not really my cup of tea, don't get me wrong they are talented...just not what i really like. Oh well, let's get some more names (aka the ones i really want to see lol).
The Word - three of the most requested bands/performers in one. I could see this show really defining the weekend for and really strikes me as "the place to be" out of everything on the list. While I absolutely love what Robert Randolph does with the family band, I have to say I am far more excited to see him in this setting. I am actually more excited about this then I would be if RRFB, NMAS and MMW were announced seperately (just for the novelty of it). It was by no means certain that this group would ever perform together again (especially after they were all in Manchester last year and didn't) and I know that for many people this is really a dream come true. Someone on the listserv posted a few days ago that they were slated for "Friday evening on the second stage". Some people read that as a late night set (which would be amazing), but to me that sounds like the "closing the second stage ~6:00 set". Scheduling gods, please do not put anything I NEED to see opposite The Word.
De La Soul- These guys played my school ~'95. The crowd didn't really know their stuff and it seems like they kind of got pissed/indifferent. That kind of turned me off of them (I was a big fan of "3 feet high and rising" at the time and not familiar with any of their other stuff). It was not a great show but I am ready to get over it and give them another chance.
Perceptionists - I am so excited that this is easily the best hip-hop line up Bonnaroo has seen. That is absolutely my biggest wish come true. I am not familiar with these guys, I was just starting to get into some Def Jux stuff with some Aesop Rock (wierd dude). I will definitely be checking out some Mr. Lif now and I hear great things. It would still make my year if they would add some Quannum Crew to the lineup (Lyrics Born especially).
Peter Rowan and Crucial Reggae - I will confess my ignorance on this guy but...played with Garcia and Grisman, now does a reggae-bluegrass hybrid thing? Sounds like the coolest music I've never heard.
The addition of only four just makes me hope that another small announcement is coming quickly (like the first two did). While I would love to see Quannum World, Beck, Brian Wilson, Derek Trucks Band, Col. Bruce, Oteil and the Peacemakers, the Wooten family band and many, many veterans of Bonnaroos past added to the list, I think I'm already getting to the point that I would almost prefer that the next 25 or so acts are things I'm not interested in; as long as the schedule falls out right there is more than a weekend's worth there for me already.
