awesome! i got my time off at my job, but i just gave them my two weeks notice. now i ahve to try to get the week off at my new job, so complicated. but worth every complication
i'm currently looking for a new job, so it's just gonna be a condition going in that i'll be "out of town" that weekend. the reason i'm gonna give is that my twin nephew and niece are graduating from high school in michigan that weekend. that's the truth, but i just won't be there. i guess it's all kind of sick and convoluted.
I just recently started a new job and the bossman was cool enough to give me the time off (unpaid and cutting into my vacation time, mind you) even though it falls within the "90 Day Probationary Period" where he normally doesn't allow ANY vacation time. Things have been working out really well, so to sweeten the deal, if I meet some specific numbers, he'll allow it to be paid. Now let's just hope I can pull my sh*t together and get this motherfu*ker paid...

yeah I gave myself 1 more recovery day this year. I am in the clear to go. I work 40 hours in 4 days so my company is letting me adjust my time so I dont even need to take days off, but I think I will use 10 PTO hours just to feel cool.

I'm a Realtor so I just schedule closings and appointments around Roo but my hubby had to take Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Monday off. We have about 12 hours drive each way and we are hauling our new RV we just got like 5 weeks ago for the first time anywhere further then 2 hours away. And we are going through the Smoky Mountains hauling 12,000 lbs I am a little nervous to say the least but we got the RV to go to shows with so this should be a great way to break it in. Tuesday morning is going to suck though
Last week I went out to the department calendar and gave myself another day on the front end and another on the back end. So that means I'm taking off the 13th through the 21st. Hell, they give us 3 weeks of paid vacation a year, so I figure there's no better time to take it than for Roo.

Not sick and convoluted at all. I told my professor I have to attend my cousin's wedding, and I have to go down early because I'm the maid of honor

well i sheduled my vacation a while back for Roo, but i dont think im losing my job the beggining of June, so it wont matter
Anyone hiring?
my company hires alot, only on a temp basis though when they need workers..and they just let a bunch of people go. but the next time they are i will let you know (could be tomorrow, could be 3 months form now.)
::)if you dont mind driving from delaware to philly every day for 15 bucks an hour.
What type of work? We're hiring for all types of positions at the large oil and gas company I work for. But we're in Oklahoma City. Three weeks paid vacation upon hire, though
I'm taking thurs, fri, sat, sun, and monday returning to my cube tuesday. If I make back to Knoxville at all!!
ditto here, except back to memphis. it's all unpaid since i'm consulting which sucks cause it makes vacation cost twice as much. i'll just have to make it worth it.
we dont get any paid days, but so what. i take off from wed. to wed. i turn in my time off as soon as we know the dates. our company is not to big on the idea, but i said they dont have bonnaroo in the winter! we're bricklayers ,and june is pretty busy ,but there are prioritys you know.bonnaroooo

I am a "consultant" at my job which means the powers that be wont give me an actual position with benefits and all... so since I don't officially work here, I come and go as I please.

I'm taking off mid-day wednesday, hopefully getting back to work all the way in boston by tuesday morning! If not, i guess they'll just have to make their own damn copies.

i am working 40 hours Sunday-Wednesday before Roo and have the next week off for vacation. i am working until midnite on wednesday and leaving either right after work or thursday morning. mapquest says we can make it there in 7 hours. Roo kicks off my vacation!! ....and i think we will get a hotel room to chill in nearby on monday after the long Roo weekend.
you're in the same boat I am.. I asked off for 15th through the 26th.. me and my friend Bob are going to go on a small road trip after bonnaroo to wherever we might feel like going...
and if that doesn't end up panning out, I'll have a full week to chill out after an amazing weekend1
Work has been slow for the last few months - so much so that they've been doing monthly lay-offs (one week off each month) for the last few months. A couple of employees (including the owner's daughter) have taken the whole summer off. I jokingly mentioned that I'd like to do that. They asked me the next day if I were serious. I said absolutely (we get unemployment compensation).
I asked if I could stay on full until Bonnaroo (to make as much money as possible), and then take off until mid-August (when I return from the beach), and they obliged.

I haven't even told my job yet.
Fuck 'em!
If they get pissed, they get pissed.....i know they won't fire me, they need as many people as they can get, and i know there isn't a line out the door to take my job as an auto parts delivery guy on Long Island.
Bonnaroo here I come again, for the third time, baby!!!!!!
