I'm sure the prices will be a little crazier this year. Hence the small amount of prep. I always bring way more than I need of batteries, water, etc., b/c I'm trying to be as comfortable & care-free as possible for those 4-5 magical days.

we went there to get some sxtra water and it was 8 dollars for a gallon of water!!!! we told them to go fuck themselves and got like 5 gallons of little bottles for the same price of off campers selling it. i wouldnt buy a thing at that store. if ya need something find it from the community. id rather pay 2 dollars for a gallon to a hippy and let him make a few cents then give it to superfly so they can make 7 dollars off of water! gouging like this is what is wrong with big companies like superfly. shit the water is more expensive then the beer!!! greed is bad. i can tbelieve it is making such an appearance at roo.
wow, im glad i read this, i thought i read that they were reasonably priced somewhere on the site...what is a cheap line of grocerie stores in Tennessee. We have some grocerie stores that charge about twice as much as other here, knowing my luck that is where i would wind up during our pre-roo stock up

By far the best thing you could do is try to buy some of your stuff in the local stores (as opposed to the mega-national chains) in the Manchester area. I'm not saying show up in Tenn emptyhanded, but grab a few bags of chips or cases of water or some sunblock at a local business. It would help both ways, you get what you were going to buy anyways and your dollars (and pleasant ol' self) show the locals that Bonnaroo is a good thing to be hosting every year...
thats a very good point, at the very least if the locals see that though probably an inconvenience on their normal everyday life, bonnaroo brings in money they will continue letting all the rooers come and disrupt their lives for years to come

The water was actually $6 a gallon last year and i didnt see very many campers selling water, 12-20oz bottles maybe but no gallons... I mean they give you all the free station water you want, which i cooked and washed with. I backpacked in last year and bought 3 gallons to drink throughout the fest and im not crying over 18$, i was glad they had fresh gallons for sale since i came in on foot, it would have been more expensive and inconvenient to buy 1$ bottles on shakedown... Most people will be able to bring in their own water but for those of us who cant and prefer fresh water to drink the general store hooks it up...
but not allowing beer into Centeroo yet charging 2 arms and a leg for a Schwagweiser is outrageous. that is just ridiculous. i mean, straighten up your prices or just let everyone bring in some goddamn beer to sip while at a freekin concert.
oh well, Bonnaroo is not the only festival im going to this summer.

i didnt even check to see how much beer was
Are you talking about in beer prices in centeroo or the general store?? I went into the Brooers tent last year and drank good beers for around what a bar would cost, maybe a bit more and you didnt have to tip...
I did not think that beer was expensive at all the last 3 year. I drank tons in centerroo and did not bat an eye at all about the price. I had some great micro brews too at a fair price. Also, we had great beer of all varieties in the parking lot. Plus the general stores prices were not that out of line. You have to think they have to ship the items in, set up a store, and sell them. They do have a cost of business and are there to turn a profit, not a charity. All in all I think that you can have a great trip on a budget if you know what you are doing.

I didnt think any of the official vendors were overpriced... I didtn visit them all of course but compared to other fests and based on Bonnaroo's size i thought most everything was fair... Like i said in another post, beer wasnt any more than it would be at a bar from the brooers tent OR the domestic beer stands...
