Personally, not worth the hassle of hauling it in, setting it up, cleaning it, packing it up, and hauling it back out. There are other things I'd rather do.
Take all the money you would have spent on the charcoal, lighter fluid, propane, and food and just buy stuff from the vendors when you want a warm meal. We took one last year, and never even bothered to set it up. We ended up just throwing some brats on our neighbors grill.
This year we have an RV with a stove so it's a little different, but even if we were tent camping we'd be leaving the grill behind. If you really want to take one, I'd just go with a small propane setup. Those seem to be the easiest.
I saw a coleman propane grill I might buy. It doubles as a grill/stove, uses propane and was like 30 or 40 bucks. Think it was called road trip party grill or something like that.
Still debating on just using vendor food and bringing snacks, etc. The whole cooking idea just sounds time consuming. Maybe I will toss a coin ?
If you choose not to use a grill, use the vendors for hot food as mentioned above; and bring some cold cuts and rolls. Another reason you might not want to be cooking over a grill; is it could be very HOT in Tennessee, in mid-June.
Yeah, I mean I love to grill at home, it's just not all that fun for me when it's 100 degrees outside. Bring plenty of sandwich stuff that you can throw together (as mentioned above) quickly if you want to, and then just hit the vendors for everything else.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to mess with it. Last year we watched the guy in the tent next to ours cook breakfast with his propane grill and it seemed like a point of frustration for him after it was all said and done. Plus, we didn't enjoy walking through the soapy mud mess he made near our camp from when he washed up.
I picked up the coleman road trip party grill at Kmart over the weekend. It was $35 and uses the propane cylinders. It has a grate that can be used for a stove and a second piece that goes on top to convert it to a grill. Everything fits inside. It comes with a nylon carry bag. I will try it out this weekend if the weather is nice and post on the results.

Yeah we thought we would chill and grill but it was so hot and there are so many better things to do. This year we are not bringing a grill...I am brings a backpacking stove and a light fry pan to cook breakfast (cause I cant really go a day without cooking breakfast) and thats it. Its just to hot to stand over the grill in the sun.
i think the grill is worth it. then again, my buddy is a cook so he gets all the food for free and dosnt mind cooking it. so i guess my suggestion would be to not only bring a grill, but a cook also. heh heh. ;-)
The only time the grill came in really handy was when we came back to camp at night. Some nice cheddy brats after a long day of walking around hits the spot. When that damn sun is out it's a very hot hassle.

This is the kind of thing I am planning on using it for. Quick, not too messy, but tasty as all hell after a long day of walking and partying.
