Hey everybody! Looking forward to Bonnaroo. This is my first Roo xperiece. Been to a lot of festivals but am a bonified bonnaroo virgin. I could not convince my wife to go until I agreed to buy the V.I.P tickets. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about that? What should we expect besides a painful credit card statement? Thanks for any input. Can't wait till June and hope everyone has a blast!
This will be my first year going VIP as well. I went last year general adminission.
I don't know all of the details and perks, but here are the things I have heard (i.e. rumors): 1. clean, real toilets - I also heard these were in airconditioned areas, but you know how rumor are. 2. Discounted food and drink. 3. More room to camp. 4. VIP access to the farm - no waiting 5. If you look at the aerials on the roo website, you can kinda tell were the VIP has been in the past. It's very close to Centeroo. This was our main reason for buying VIP as all of the walking was draining our happy energy. 6. Less security going into Centeroo. 7. VIP gets you access to the above-stage areas so you can watch the bands from above. Also, we will have access to the bleachers and general admission doesn't.
I think that's all. If I think of more, I'll come back.
haha, Tick Trix, you had the spot I had in 2003 AND 2004. I could not believe our luck for such a shit ass spot, all the way to the back. And first year, I was all the way on the opposite side of the farm. Last year I had a spot 200 yards from VIP, and we are doing VIP this year. I'm pretty stoked. It was expensive, but It'll be worth it.
Not a veteran VIP, this will be my first time in VIP, but I know the differences...
VIP has nice bathrooms and actual showers- all free. You're right next to Centeroo, the food is 24hrs and free, there's a party Thursday night (usually with some private performance), you get nearly double the camping space and bleacher access at both stages.
I was in Oddjob- not bad but a bit of a hike (hard to justify going back to camp for just a few minutes).
Um, iskew, I vote that you photoshop that camp site for us. Mmmm'kay? Thanks.
photoshop is fun - we should probably start a new thread and we can photoshop all of our past years' campsites. Yeah, how bored are we as we wait till June?
I stayed in the campground in ’04, VIP last year, I will definitely be going VIP again this year. Here is what you get with VIP:
• Older crowd generally speaking, I would say closer to 40 than 20, more laid back than GA. • Free showers, very clean compared to the rest of Roo • Much more room at your camp • Air-conditioned toilet trailers like at special events, not porta-potties. • Free food at certain times, reduced prices for beer. The food was pretty lame imo. • Access to bleachers on 2 main stages • VIP camp is very close to the music and Centeroo. • NO security to go in and out of the Roo, at least that’s how it was last year. You go straight from the VIP area into the Main stage field, no hassle, no nothing. • VIP party on Thursday night, again, kind of on the lame side, but the Duo played a great set last year.
On a slightly unrelated note, if that's where the VIP area is, where is the camping only area in this whole mess?
Well, it's to the left of Centeroo in this pic, but it's hard to see. If you go to www.bonnaroo.com and look at past year's aerials, you will be able to see it better - it's the area without cars or RVs very close to Centeroo.

Hope that helps.
Yes, that helps a lot. Thanks so much for taking the time to post these & I'm gonna give you some happy points.
Correction: there IS security at VIP checkpoints, but it's just to make sure you have the special wristband; the security staff had NO problems with our waltzing through with non-regulation chairs and packed coolers...a key feature of VIP!

Yeah what i tell people is that VIP isnt worth it unless you, have kids, are handicapped, are older or just want to avoid the craziness in general camping, or if you simply can afford to shell out the extra money for a few luxorys... If i were to buy VIP the only thing i would use would be the showers, which i dont really mind going without...
Please keep telling people that so it won't fill up.
I can't wait for the showers, but I am really excited about the proximity. And the awesome thing is, I can enjoy VIP and then just waltz out and go enjoy GA with friends if I want.
I don't get many vacations a year, so I live it up when I can.
