We burned citronella (sp?) tiki-lanterns -- seemed to help. I do remember cute little neon green grasshoppers.....do not be fooled. They bite and it hurts like a bi*ch. Would suggest some off for the chiggers, etc. remember, you'll be outside around dusk, that's when they'll be there also.
I honestly did not have a problem at all last year. I'm not saying you shouldn't bring stuff to protect yourself (bugspray, whatever). But normally, when I step outside mosquitoes freakin flock to me like I'm some kind of front-porch lightbulb or something.

If the wind is blowing the mosquitos don't like it. I kind of look at it like this.....90,000 gives mosquitos a lot to choose from....and some of the blood they will be sucking is going to ZONK the mosquito so bad he'll be flying upside down and sideways until he can get straight.
Oh yeah, we'll be stocked with Off, citronellas & coils. But generally bugs find me even with those things around. I just need to know how bad the situation is. Sounds like a normal summer night outing in a big field.
Maybe it's just me, but bugs usually come after me bigtime...and I've never had any trouble at 'roo. Just make sure you watch out for those fire ant hills when you set up camp!

Are you kidding, do they have ticks there??? I f-in hate those things. Had a bad experience down in back coutry Kentucky where I had some chocolate then about an hour later pulled 2 ticks off and looked at my arms and legs for about 3 hours. Not a good time!
