Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
At Wallyworld you can get a clamp-on sunbrella that will fit most any chair, even the beach chairs. It has a bendable shaft that you can adjust to protect you, and it's pretty unobtrusive. That should work.
a warning for those of you wanting to bring chairs and umbrellas......i saw several ppl being told they could not bring in their chairs nor umbrellas......now i dont know if there were specific reasons (ie. too big, pointed end, etc), but there were a couple of nice things put out by the trash cause the folks didn't want to hike em back to camp.....i did see one dude try to toss one over the wall to his buds.....but security saw him too.....his buds were later seen being escorted out of centeroo......with the chair.....

From Bonnaroo Info Guide; WHAT IS ALLOWED INTO CENTEROO (PERFORMANCE FIELDS AND FESTIVAL VILLAGE) "Low seated concert chairs (chairs must sit less than 1 ft off the ground)"
After reading the info guide I bought 2 beach chairs (unable to find concert chairs) the chairs sit less than 12 inches but have high backs, not low backs like mentioned on this thread. Does anyone know if these chairs will be allowed in centeroo? The info guide doesn't mention LOW back chairs...

You should be fine. They are concerned that people sitting in chairs 2ft+ off the ground will block someone's vision. As long as the back isn't any taller than your head, I wouldn't worry about it.
Here's the version I choose. Just received it the other day---seems really comfortable. Higher back but seat still only a few inches off the ground. Also adjustable for sloping terrain, fairly heavy duty, etc...
Okay - so we found some low chairs like this and they seem like they'll be perfect. They have a little built-in backpack that you can carry a drinks, food, or whatever else in.
This brings up a question about the cooler/beverage situation in centeroo... Are you allowed to bring beers or a cooler inside?

unfortunately the only food/beverages you can bring in is unopened bottled water......however, i found last year that if you tell them you have a medical condition (ie. seizures) they will let you bring in large water containers without any hassle......just be prepared to say "seizures" every time you go thru the gates......cause they will try to disallow them.....learned this trick at a football game a couple of years ago.....works every time.....
ps.....would those chairs you bought be considered a "framed backpack"??.....they had problems with those too last year according to the literature.....i dont know why....
Last year it seemed like you could carry a two-door hatchback through the gates, if you picked the right time/person. Half the time they were too busy BSing with each other and didn't look at you and half the time they didn't give a shit. I remember one "screener" was waving people through saying things like "yeah yeah.. whatever... oh f...k it just go.."

this was not my experience.....we were patted down everytime thru and my buddy had his alcohol confiscated everytime he tried to seek it in.....even when he used a "bladder"......only small packages seemed to make it thru the gates......but i have sh!tty luck.....so things will probably be better for yall
Those chairs pictured are $39.99 for a set of 2 from Costco. I actually got a pair of slightly different, cheaper ($14.99 each) ones, also from Costco that aren't quite so "backpackey" so should easily skirt the "no framed backpack" rule (although I bet that's really just meant for proper backpacking backpacks with a large external frame). I've seen similar chairs all over the place though.
Only 3 more days till we leave for 'roo! Hooray! See y'all there!
