I'm trying to remember when it was last year (or this year) when I first became obsessed with Bonnaroo 2004. Now that the dates for 2005 have been announced, I feel the anticipation creeping up on me. Has anyone else had this happen? I find myself discussing this almost religious festivial with friends and strangers, thinking about all that I learned from this year and what i'll need to pack for next. When I should be cleaning my house in anticipation of my sister's arrival, I long to sit down and start a playlist of songs that should be on my bonnaroo roadtrip CD. A large percent of my stories at parties start out with, "When we were at Bonnaroo last summer...."
I can't wait!
Planning is half the fun though, the wait's just agonizingly long. Someone should really consider a Winterfest Bonnaroo to help us fiends get by.
I too find myself obsessing about Bonnaroo. I am so obsessed I called my friends in the middle of the night just to tell them about the date announcement. Well I guess I am lucky enough to have friends who are just as obsessed. So have you ever found yourself having a conversation about Bonnaroo with yourself? I have but I swear I am not crazy, well maybe just a little. We may just need to do a little therapy session to get over this obsession but my psychic abilities tell me it will just end up being a large discussion about Bonnaroo. So maybe we should just skip the therapy and start the discussion but wait… this concept seems oddly familiar.
A week after last year's roo, I was thinking about this year I'm already coordinating with other people and making camping reservations at the KOA (they have trees, which make for good shade). How soon is too soon? NEVER!
(But I may ask for another "five-day" cooler - we stuck two 24-packs of frozen bottled water in one; still frozen on Sun. nite! The H2O was good to keep "everything else" at bay).
Anyways, I got my fix around January last year as far Bonnaroo is concerned.Hell, I have been talking about it practically all year and I want to drag my gf to it next year, but she doesn't want to do the camping after I told her when the sun rises in the morn (that brings back lovely memories LOL) and the downpours we endured. Does anyone know how soon the hotels are booked ? I think most of you guys camped, but any info would help.
I think it's great that the Roo promoters have announced dates already. From what I know, they've jumped the gun and are lightyears ahead of any other summer festivals in terms of announcements.
Wonder when they'll begin announcing brief lineups and ticket info...
I know I'm into the Bonnaroo groove now, and am counting on it to get me through the winter. Anyway, I bought a hotel package last year through the Bonnaroo site shortly after I bought tickets. I don't know how long it takes for them to be booked up, but if you decide you want to hotel it, I would advise booking early!
they say it's a 10 minute walk from centeroo. In the past years, KOA campers have been allowed to walk through the VIP area to get there. If you dont have a reservation already, you probably wont be able to get one. I had to call and get on a waiting list the DAY they announced the dates. Us KOA types take our camping seriously
