The last two years we brought 300 bucks. We live just across the state line in Virginia and it cost us a little over 50 bucks in gas to get there and another %0 to get home. We packed lots of drinks, food and Ice. Brought a gas grill and was real ready for the weekend. we watched our money and didn'r spend much while we were there. we brought home a little under 100 buck we didn't spend. This year we will spend more. The bus we are taking uses more gas and the gas prices are higher. We uses a street maps program to check the milage there against the gas milage of the bus at todays gas prices and are looking at doubling the gas cost of the previous two trips. We will probibly end up bringing a credit card for emergincies and two or three hundred bucks in cash. Don't pack stuff to cook. we brought stuff to cook the first year and only cooked once. the cleanup was a pain in the butt and we just didn't have the time to hang out and do all that kind of work because there was too much going on to see. Last year we brought stuff that could be fixed and eaten in a hurry and carried around in a day pack.
Just put yourself in a mindset for the show. Think about all the walking you will be doing and the amount of cool stuff you will not want to miss. It will be hotter than hell and may rain some too. You will need to drink alot of water and salty food to keep you hydrated. Gear up for the event like you would if you were camping on the BLM land outside of Tucson AZ and you will be fine.

I took between $200 and $300 dollars both years. Plus I took money just for gas which, split between a few people, was only around $20-$30.(if that much) My brother is going for the first time this year and he asked me the same question the other day. I told him to bring as much money as possible(within reason) b/c you'd rather have too much than not enough! Just be sure you put your money in a safe place b/c even though I know we're all friends at Bonnaroo, you just never know! ;D

They have ATM machines at the show. We may do something where we will not hardly any have cash on us to loose. I have a safe and my have it welded into the bus to have a secure place to keep stuff.
the first year i took about $300, plus we had more than enough food and water. last year i took about $500 and we still brought all the food. last year i bought a lot of things from vendors though, glass, some clothes, some hemp. i tend to spend a lil money on 'supplies' too...keeps me up for those late night sets. it really depends on what you plan to do while there. will you be eating from vendors or bringing your own meals? plan to buy things...hemp, glass, etc? plan to buy other things on shakedown? they did have atm's there...but didnt they run out of money really fast? i may be wrong, it seems like i heard that. i remember the REALLY long lines for them though. i would definatly recommend a credit card if you have one...in case you do loose money or something you will have gas to get home on. hope this helps.

Last year I only brought $150 cash (plus an ATM card, which I never had to use) and had no problems! In fact, I even went home with about $30 when all was said and done. Guess I planned accordingly while packing!
I'm anticipating spending more money on the way down and back than at the actual festival. I'm travelling from the NYC area with 10ish friends, and we're planning on stopping a lot, make a real vacation out of it, with amusement parks for some goofy summer fun. I'll be spending twice as much time on the road than on the grounds, so that's where I really need to budget, or at least plan for.
And we're going to try to bring as much with us as we can, so that way we don't have to spend money that we brought for fun stuff on batteries, sunscreen, food snacks, and because everything just seems more expensive away from home.

i'm bringing about $450 this year...i'm going to bring some food to cook(like ever-reliable SPAM that doesn't need to be referigerated) but am going to just really enjoy myself this time and give money to the vendors and buy any "special goods" that i want...
I'm cutting back this year. I'm bringing $38,000. I hate waiting in line for ice so I pay winsome young bonnaroo fillies $20 a bag if they carry it back to my camp on their heads.
I also pay large dollars to anyone who can burp their way through a classic rock song, or even part of one, like the jam in "Freebird."
Most fun of all is bringing the rolls of dollar coins, throwing them out near crowds of wookies, then filming the resulting melee. Whoo-boy. Good times....
